Misc... what is the best book you've ever read!?

What is the best book you've ever read? Or, since "best" is subjective, what is the one you enjoyed the most?


I start:

Meditations by Marcus Aurelius



For the unaware: The book is a compilation of Marcus Aurelius' notes. He wrote it in greek and to himself. He never wanted to publish or write a book, only notes from and to himself. So you are basically reading the true thoughts of, not only a genius, but the most powerful man of his time...and you realize that those thoughts/learnings, still make sense today, almost 2000 after they were written. Is eye opening and almost unbeliavable. Great experience!

Too stressed to read much anymore.

Maybe some technical book for how much it taught me.

I think values and even ritual similar to what most modern religions follow are essential to social health, and high achievers and losers both seem to undervalue these. Maybe some inquiry into religious values or the books themselves if you can live with the supernatural flair without crying about metaphorical truth some take too seriously.

I would say The Name of the Wind but I wouldn't recommend it to anybody until the third book is finally out, if it is ever released.

The book that actually helped me the most was the richest man in babylon. Not the greatest book ever written by any stretch but the principals in it helped me pay off all my bills and made like way easier for me.
