The doorbell on my front door is working just fine. The problem is with the Spotlight Cam I just put in the backyard. At night time, there is no detection and the spotlight is not turning on.

I was thinking maybe the angle of the cam is not set right, but the detection works fine during the day. I hung the cam on the side of my house above my back door and the only way I can trigger the light to go on is when I leave the house going out the back door. If I walk around to the backyard and wave my arms and jump up and down, I get nothing. Almost as if the motion detection for the light is in the back of the cam.

I did check the cam zone and even expanded it for wider coverage.

Open to suggestions. Any ideas?

The wired one is awesome. The battery one is pretty spotty.

Did that. Its on max.

Could there be different detection for the light and the notifications or should it work on the same thing?

Yeah I have had 2 wired ones and 2 battery ones.

I can get the wired ones to respond to a moth, bee, spider, etc....

I had one battery one over my garage pointed down my driveway and it would not even pick up a frigging SUV pulling in the driveway sometimes, but then it would get my neighbors dog at other times.

Not speaking for anyone else, but for me, I would give the wired ones 10/10 awesomeness but would never buy a battery one again.

I had a couple battery ones and they sucked. The hub was always disconnecting from my wifi and shiz.

Went to Costco and spent like 800 on a multi camera hard wired system that can upload online or to a hard drive and I prefer this one by light-years.


Not to mention alot of these companies have been caught giving your uploaded footage to authorities without your consent and without warrants from them.

So I much prefer keeping things on my own hard drive and keeping my cameras hard wired. Setup isn't as convinient but as a long term solution it's better imo.

I was expecting the sensitivity to be the same as the doorbell. The doorbell is battery and it detects every time a leaf blows by. Not getting the same sensitivity on the spotlight cam. Hoping it doesn't come down to getting the wired. I'm gonna fool around with it more. Thanks for the feedback

I got the whole thing. doorbell, 2 wired cams, 2 battery cams, the home security system with motion sensors, door sensors, etc. It all works seamlessly and great and would highly recommend all of it except the battery spotlight cams pretty much suck. I took one of them down already and gave it to my brother. He put his above his front door just to get close up stuff to his porch and it works for that, but it wouldn't cover a yard or even my driveway.
