Anyone else’s married friends falling apart left and right?

Jesus Christ this sh!t is getting ridiculous. I know everyone knows that social media is just a highlight reel and not a realistic portrayal of people’s lives. But even the ones who have kids and post pics of their supposed happy life become single out of fukking nowhere. It’s like an epidemic of divorcees out there. Kinda making me feel a little better about living the free agent lifestyle of a short term serial monogamist. I came close a couple times to marrying an ex but am happy as fuk I didn’t go through with it.

And even the married guys I talk to never suggest marriage to me. Come to think of it, I can’t remember any man telling me they’re ecstatic about being married.

Anyone else seeing the same thing?

Nope.

But they were all married before social media was a thing.

Draw your own conclusions.

I swear to god I think people in their late 20’s/early 30’s just seem to settle down with whatever person they’re with at the time. It’s like a game of musical chairs. They all somehow managed to find the love of their life within a 6 year period. No fukking way.

I’ll admit that I’ve felt the societal “pull” of settling down and starting a family. I’m 33 and feel this kind of implied pressure to do what so many others are doing and if I don’t then I’m in the loser category. I would fukking love to be a dad and have a faithful wife in a happy marriage but it ain’t 1955 anymore so that dream seems severely outdated.

I don't know anyone who's married and happy.
I don't know anyone that easily gets laid as a single man who's unhappy.

Mariage is cope.

I don't know about 'married friends', nor do I care about them - but if i ever see my ex-gf again and she expresses any sort of interest in me, i am gonna reject her SO FKN HARD that she's gonna cry about it.

I am going to tell her that what she done is considered cheating in my eyes and that it was over between us a long time ago.

Bro that’s just ridiculous. If you think men who get divorced are trashy people then you’re an idiot. Women initiate 80% of divorce and that number shoots up to 90% if the woman is college educated. And thanks to no-fault divorce they can suck the resources out of a man simply because “I lOsT tHe FeElz.”

My older brother is the greatest guy I know and while he’s still married, he came close as fuk to divorce because his wife became an alcoholic with extreme bouts of depression and gained 100 pounds. Luckily she finally lost most of the weight and is on the right kind of meds but he had that thousand yard stare every time I’d see him. Numerous times he’s told me “Never get married!” And “Never have kids!”

Yeah but what if two reasonable and mentally/emotionally stable people get married?

I need to clarify that I gain no joy in seeing marriages fall apart. I’m not sitting around rubbing my hands together with a giant grin on my face thinking “yessss join the dark side” when I see that sh!t. I’m not that petty. It just seems like every time I consider giving marriage a shot, another one fails that scares me right off again. It’s demoralizing.

Nope. All of my married friends' lives just keep improving over time and none of them use social media beyond having messenger installed on our phones so we can shoot the schit in a grotesque group chat where we basically post the most juvenile stuff. Buddy of mine just had a second kid and got a 1 million dollar house with a sickening salt water pool that's heated so I go there to chill with him. He's living the life. They all are really.

Weird cope, but ok.
This mirrors my experience. Divorce is usually preceded by a complete lack of communication. Lack of insight and selfishness both dovetail into lack of communication.

This is extreme cope.

If your friends got divorced 'because the woman initiated it' then yes your friends are still trashy and low IQ for choosing what turned into a vapid whore of a wife in the first place.

Like you said - most of your friends 'settled' because 'it was the done thing'.

And you're surprised because 10 years later they hate each others guts?

Yeah tonnes.

Latest one is a lawyer friend who moved into banking (and is making bank). Seemed like the perfect, beautiful family. Two kids, nice house, both my friend and his wife with great jobs.

She went full schizophrenic, started accusing him of all kinds of chit, saying the house is bugged, etc. She's now in a mental hospital. He's dating a pregnant girl (not by him) for some reason I can't fathom as the guy has all the makings of a Chad.

The most depressed demographic of people in the US are women 40+ with no kids and not married. Feminism sold them the big lie that pursuing a career over starting a family will be their #1 source of happiness.

The biggest precursor to divorce is the woman out earning the man and divorce rates go up when they get a promotion/pay raise.

lol she didn't pursue anything really - she's just retarded and used to having power in a relationship coz she's good looking.. if she was ugly, no one would even notice her.

I'm not even saying she's dumb or anything, she's the average person who happens to look nice - really, if she was ugly, she'd be a much better (and probably happier) person, since she would be forced to 'play nice' and not act like such a hot shot around the area, since she mostly gets away with her shenanigans because she's good looking.

So i guess the whole 'feminist movement' worked against her best interests - hence why we should actually pity her.

Not to be a dik but no. The ppl I know married, including me are doing well.

Wife and I don't have social media. Many couples must post to show a bullchit front. All an image of happy life. Ppl with no need to post crap are the ones that will make it.

“Tempted to neg”. Just go ahead and do it lol I don’t give a fuk. You think red squares give you some kind of power? That’s childish.

If you and your friends’ marriages are good then that’s great. The fact that you’re annoyed by this thread and going the ad hominem route is the kind of thing women do. You’re so transparently in your feelings right now.

Having a top tier profession doesn't dictate if someone is trashy or not. Trashy to me means superficial and shallow.

Plenty of poor people have long, loving marriages.
