Toxic family member
Angry af right now. A distant family member business owner contacted my sister trying to get in touch with me about a huge job with one of his clients that could literally change my life. And she had no intention of telling me until she let it slip out talking to another family member and I walked in on the conversation…
I confronted her right there about it and she gave some BS about her not thinking “I was up for the job” when I know she was 100% just being vindictive. This after I helped her all weekend when no one else wanted to lol..
she’s 10+ years older than me and there’s always been some hostility there with her thinking I got a better childhood than she had because our parents were more established by the time I came around.
I’ve been on bad terms with her most of my teen and adult life. She lived a very self destructive “city girl” lifestyle that put our family in danger multiple times.. Shes also told straight lies on me behind my back to other family members, and treated me almost like I wasn’t her brother at all in certain situations.
She’s watched me and pretended to be on my side just to do something like this when I’m FINALLY gaining momentum after sacrificing all of my 20s for my craft..
For her to try and take money out of her own brothers pocket just to be bitchy is beyond me. After all I’ve done to help her its crazy.
I honestly want to cut ties with her for good. She has a horrible personality traits and she’s shown me time and time again she’s just toxic and can’t help it.
Is this grounds to burn the bridges for good?

Are you completely unreachable online? That sounds fishy.
I don't know that I'd cut ties over this, mostly because in my mind there's a difference between not relaying information to you and actively working to destroy your career or whatever. Certainly wouldn't trust her with anything ever, but I'd continue to be pleasant if aloof around her.

There’s no reason for her to keep this from me other than the fact she saw it as a huge opportunity. Why would she try and gloat to another family member about keeping it from me if it wasn’t purely malicious?
Also our relationship has been pretty distant. She doesn’t know much about me other than the fact that I don’t thugmax like most other guys in our family.
Consequently that’s driven a wedge between me and most of my family members.

Losers are always like this. Cut ties and move on if she can't provide anything for you.

I just see it as incredibly chatty behavior.
Like I mentioned in the first post I was helping her all week with a problem she got herself into.
So this whole time I’m talking to her about my current projects just small talk and she’s sitting there just not telling me about this job she knew would be huge.
She literally watched me struggle most of my 20’s freelancing on the side while working chit jobs to get to this point

Crazy world huh
I can’t tell you how many black women have laughed in my face for not being covered in tattoos or acting hood

Then again I know how ghetto latinos and asians can be like that as well, giving people chit when they try to ascend. I think jealousy has a lot to do with it, like some people are just straight up ignorant losers and it makes them seethe to see someone come from the same place they did and make a success out of their lives, especially given the way ghetto losers tend to blame all their problems on their upbringing.

That’s exactly what I think she was doing by keeping the info from me. When given the chance to relay an opportunity to me, she decides not to out of some kind of jealously.
The project is still available by the way
Reached out to the client this morning

I'm not contact with my sisters. Whatever I did it was just never enough. Those old family dynamics are hard/impossible to change. Now you know where she stands and you gotta move on OP take care of yourself.
Truth about the Black thing. The things other black boys say to my son gets just weird. Both he and my wife have been called not black because they are not living the 'thug life'. It's crazy.

It’s easy to say cut all contact but life is not black and white like that.
