LMFAOOO 30 year old boomers are still seething over this

Gen X and elder millennials who 'sacrificed' to pay off their student loans have a complicated view of Biden's debt forgiveness: 'Are they going to give me a $20,000 tax credit? No they aren't.'
https://www.businessinsider.com/paid...w-biden-2022-8

LMFAOOO imagine "doing the right thing" and then bitching and moaning that you wont get a free $20k check.
For Statham, it's not just the money she put toward her loan repayments that she can't get back. It's the vacations, movies, and restaurants she might have been able to enjoy with her daughter — as well as the more stress-free life she would have experienced — if her student debt wasn't weighing her down.
NO refunds bitch LOL

The article literally says " Gen X and elder millennials" and you title the thread with "30 year old boomers"

They have a point. Student loans should NEVER have been forgiven. Reform and restructure the system, sure. Stop government loaning money - absolutely. But actual loan forgiveness should never have fukking happened.

Since when is a 30yo a boomer?

Can't blame them for being pissed, some worked 2 jobs etc to pay off / keep up with their loans then you get a bunch of lazy fuks who didnt' do sh!t and got bailed out.

Biggest problem of today is there's no consequences for anything.
Can't pay your loan? no problem, they're erased
Can't pay rent? no prob, they can't evict you
Got knocked up? no prob, abort it.
can't win at sports? no prob, identify as female and dominate

I could give a FUK. If 10,000 dollars changes your life at 30+ years old, you have bigger problems on your hands. Brandon is dangling this carrot so his low IQ base will vote for him again, meanwhile it doesn't have a chance in hell of passing. The gimme my free stuff crowd is typically a liberal democrats best friend.

Only people who dont understand basic fundamentals of economics think student loan forgiveness is a good idea.

Makes sense considering their BA degrees.

classic moral hazard at work

"In economics, a moral hazard is a situation where an economic actor has an incentive to increase its exposure to risk because it does not bear the full costs of that risk."

If you plan to make him feel smaller or stupid for being incorrect just save it. Young people laugh when someone more intelligent corrects them. Its a defense mechanism or something...maybe its a badge of honor amongst children to come off as stupid as possible. The more ridiculous you look, speak, and act is generally rewarded in our society. Having an education is racist Rich... you don't want to be racist do you?

The problem is it is like the COVID checks, first its 10k once, then 10k again now 20k a year later. Dems never just stop handing out money, theres always more and it starts the slippery slope.

i sit pretty middle of the line and liberal on some issues and this **** is perplexing. Free ****. Weve lost common sense.

Hard to believe someone posting on this site says chit like "30 year-old boomers". I thought almost all remaining msicers were at least in their late 20s. Even if not, they're still using some srs Boomer tech by posting on this forum...

ITT: I am contrarian

I'm 50 years old now and never had more than $20K total in loans for my degree in Broadcasting, but I still owe about $8000, even thought I've paid a lot more than $20K back over the years. It's a total scam that they calculate the intrest and payments in such a way that you end up paying back 3 times what you borrowed.

Some of it is my fault, as I went through a few bouts of umemployment and had to get forbearance a couple of times, but I'm ready to be done with it.

If it doesn't get blocked, I'll be glad that the last of it is wiped out. I had Pell grants and am eligible for up to $20K forgiven, which is more than enough.

I'm still not gonna' vote for that senile old coot, but I have no problem taking advantage of this.

Here is the offical page about it:
