Like what brand and style produce the best sounds?

This cheap Yamaha set I have from Costco (5.1 with Subwoofer)isn’t that great…. Which brand/price do you notice a big difference?

SVS are very popular

They have both ported and sealed

PB-1000 is a great starter subwoofer

Receiver - either Denon or Marantz

Speakers - There's so many good brands that each brand produces a signature sound

If you want Bassy speakers then DefTech is the way to go. Martin Logan, KEF, Bowers and Wilkins are great brands.

Polk Audio makes good affordable speakers.

More exclusive include Focal, Seaton Sound, Wilson, Pardigm, PSB, Magnepan, Hyperion Audio, Aperion Audio, Salton Sound, Legacy Audio, Revel Speakers, etc..etc...

Get a couple big boi floorstanding speakers, you'll need a receiver too though.

Get something half decent and you won't even need a sub.
