LG OLED changed my life srs

I have a 77" CX in the living room and two 65" C1s.

I primarily stream 4k but I still buy 4k discs. Recently bought 4k Game of Thrones Discs and it looks and sounds a whole lot better than HBO Max. It sparked up my interest to slowly build up a 4k disc collection. I mostly get native 4k discs. But even the upscale transfers look a lot better than streaming.

Cant' even stand to look at a non OLED tv srs.

Just LOL at non believers

There is absolutely no going back to non oled tvs.

I am set up for years. Probably wont have a reason to upgrade in a looooooooong time.
Look, i know i don't really know you and all, and i know you probably hear this like everyday, but your just so perfect to me. I've been seeing these TVs/monitors? Mentioned here for a while now. How much is like a 50-60 inch or something? Is it good for gaming and just normal youtubing and stuff?

They are very good. I had the same model, 77” CX and love it. But I recently moved and handed it to my parents lol.

I got the 9800 originally released in 2014 in my bedroom, curved 55, paid 2k at the time

In 2018, i bought a c7 65’ for 1800
Last November, with 14k hours on it, LG replaced the panel free of charge due to a color blob on it

I would like to get a 77, but I have a brand new panel and my tv nook wouldn’t hold it

You don't need much for YouTube lol

YouTube is a very compressed 4k. The quality of the 4k sucks on YouTube

I just plugged my Series X up to my OLED again and i have an older model but jesus christ the games literally look like real life on it. Game still look like games on my QLED but not on the oled. I can only imagine the newer models are close to perfection.

Yeah, I've found that good a 1080p blu-ray is better than most 4K UHD streams.

The upside to going for a more expensive 'upscaled' 4K UHD, even when it costs a lot more than a well maintained 'used' 1080p bluray, is the prospect of the 4K UHD having a good, high-res ATMOS or DTS:X track and HDR.

Apart from that, OLED is a great technology, apart from the price and potential for burn in.

Yeah until streaming bit rates match or exceed 4k disc bitrates, disc is still king for quality. The steaming audio quality is also compressed af.

Services like Tidal and Deezer basically made the CD irrelevant from a quality perspective. Might be a while for that to happen with movies. If ever.

I have att fiber so I’m pretty much getting max quality. 4k disc is still king.

LG cx oled crew.

I have dolby atmos surround setup so I've also been buying Blu ray disc's again since I got an Xbox series x for that pure lossless experience. Some movies are truly epic when viewed this way.

I have a 65 cx in my living room. Everyone mentions how awesome the picture quality is .
It’s actually a C1 panel, as it went south on extended warranty and they had to replace it.
I’m 10.5 feet away and was debating to go with a 77G2 next , although it may be too big , but it would fit between the speakers

This gives you idea of what I’m up against

Was going to oust the stand that’s holding the centre channel , and build a pedestal for it and have it just kissing the bottom of the oled

Do you play PC games on it or only console? I've been curious to play my PC on the tv. What modes do you use when playing on TV? Gaming mode? C1 model btw

Very nice, but honestly for me personally, the screen size is too small from the distance lmao. With my 65, I sit where your coffee table is.

I’m just waiting a bit to get the Sennheiser Ambeo and move my current Samsung atmos sound bar to my room.

The ambeo would be my end game for my current needs. But I know that upgrading trap never stops lol.

But the ambeo looks so hnnnnnng

I don’t play PC but a lot of games just default to Dolby Vision which takes care
Of the settings

My standard settings is Warm 50 with most processing off or low. And I recently converted to warm 50 too. Trust the process your eyes will adjust. Anything else will look too blue.

The only time I would probably use dynamic/vivid would be for like Nintendo games which are meant to be colorful and vibrant imo.

I just have my Series X hooked up to it. I use the SDR settings from rtings. The ones listed here for the C1 are probably pretty accurate. And no game mode for me.

[img]https://i.imgur.com/xfcAqvU.jpg[/im]
idk how much the room expands to the right, and if you mostly sit in couch in the middle it might be a tiny bit moot. but i think your sound could sound better with placement. the couch nearest the door is killing some of the sound

your sub is being blocked right there and i think your back speakers could be better utilized by placing them where your plant is

i'd think about taking that couch and putting it at the same place your other couch is, and maybe splitting the difference if there's not enough room.

i just think your chit would sound better that way

OLED is great, can't beat the contrast ratio of a good OLED, however many people who are gaming in pitch black dungeons will do better with LED or especially the new MiniLEDs coming out. I am not sure why this isn't talked about more. OLEDs aren't close to having the brightness to perform in your well in average living room.

Looking for a new TV myself and OLED is unfortely out due to low peak nit ratings. Unfortunately Sony dropped the ball with their first crack at MiniLED this year and although I may grab a X95 it's somewhat underwhelming from a company who usually makes great sete. Waiting on ratings for new Hisense and TCL MiniLEDs releasing now, bot have promise and are cheap enough to trash in a year or two when Sony gets the tech performing as good as their OLEDs.

Hate ot break it to ya, but you'd be much better with MiniLED in a room with that much natural light, ubless you are only using the TV at night.

Just sell it on ******** MP. Even if you found a place to trade-in they'd most likely give ya low value for it. I'd sold many TVs online when I am ready to upgrade.

I want to try the OLED but I won't have warranty where I live so when the burn in happens I'd just have to throw it away. Seems wasteful for a TV to just last 3 years or so.

This, plus you'd need one of the 2022 LG models just to get half decent brightness out of it, CX/C1 looks like a phone on battery saver mode

Can’t relate srs.

Most of my critical watching/gaming happens at night anyways. Never once thought I needed more brightness
Look, i know i don't really know you and all, and i know you probably hear this like everyday, but your just so perfect to me. The few hours we talked were really great even if the convo was stale, your really pretty and chill, and your country thats just perfect :'D i really dont know how to explain it, but i think i have feelings for you somehow. i never felt like this with someone i just met, but i felt the need to get it off my chest. sorry for being all weird just idk how to explain it D:
