C02 shortage is real fellas.

And it's not just affecting soda and beer. It's a refrigerant, it's massively used in meat production. I'm a fountain tech and more and more of my calls are due to low or no CO2. Lot of these customers have not been able to get it for weeks. Started a few weeks ago when customers complained that they're being skipped on their delivery, it's really hitting now. Looked it up today after SouthernPrepper mentioned it:

Companies including Tyson Foods Inc. TSN 0.08%▲ and Kraft Heinz Co. KHC -3.38%▼ have been searching for carbon dioxide as supply disruptions this summer exacerbated existing shortages, threatening production of goods from cold cuts to beer.

Carbon dioxide is widely used throughout food and beverage industries, including to stun animals before they are slaughtered and to chill and process meat. The gas puts the pop in soft drinks and the fizz in beer, and is turned into dry ice to keep food frozen.

Supplies of carbon dioxide, a byproduct of industrial processes such as ethanol and fertilizer production, have been tight since early 2020, when many Americans stopped driving due to the Covid-19 pandemic, slashing ethanol demand. Now, shortages of the gas have grown acute in parts of the country, according to carbon-dioxide suppliers and food industry officials, as production disruptions coincided with strong summer demand. Maintenance shutdowns at industrial facilities that produce the gas this fall are expected to keep supplies tight.

I accepted an offer and was set to go, but changed my mind at the last minute. Mixed bag of pros and cons, but happy right now. Fountains are 1/3 of my job btw.

While not as cheap as getting it as a side product of manufacturing, pulling CO2 out of the atmosphere isn't difficult at all. But holy fuk would that take the sails out of the socialists and the corporations they are unaware they work for. Doubtful anyone will step up to do it at a large scale though. They'll get got pretty damn quick.

I've seen multiple technologies that do it. Some more energy intensive (direct air carbon capture) than more passive ways. I first read about them a decade or more ago. Some with the goal of making products like concrete or even gasoline itself. All been proven, it's a matter of scaling up and will to do it. But it's a bit like the US drilling the hell out of shale oil. We only did it when it made economic sense to do so, not 60 years ago when it didn't make sense to pursue. More than likely that's what will happen with CO2. It will be the boogieman for the evil kunts to use as a weapon against humanity, until one day you'll be reading how we decided to start removing it. Greens are already furious at even the suggestion because "it's an excuse to keep burning fossil fuels." Well, yeah sorta.

I live how the wsj article leaves out that it is the sanctions on Russia causing the LNG supply shock, which is causing this. LMAO @ deep state media
