Been feeling tighter and **** as I'm getting older (30).

Tried doing a beginner thing and I was laughably bad, sucks lol.

I consider resistance training and cardio as a form of Yoga - though i should do the poses.

To me Yoga means more than just the exercises, it's a holistic approach to well being - being in control of your mind, body, and emotions.

I follow some stretching routines from this guy on youtube named Tom Merrick. Those have been pretty helpfully and I just do them at home and follow along.

I like his routines because they’re not all hippy bs. Plus he has a dreamy British accent.

yeah, it's like stretching but with some muscular endurance (depending on the type) and it stretches out your whole body in lots of poses that you wouldn't think to do and it's easier to listen to follow someone on youtube doing yoga than to stretch by yourself for the same amount of time

you'll get better with time, it's really about stretching out to your level and not about being as flexible as your instructor

To add onto this, there are human beings out there who even go as far as saying that the 'exercise' component of yoga is the least important.

Much more weight is placed on for example seeing (and later on hopefully experiencing) everything as one thing - which will allow you to have the right intentions, motivations, thoughts, emotions, etc, and allow the Yoga within you to blossom.

The stretches are just a form of exercise, like good, deep squat(s), etc - and daily cardio.

Please do take into consideration what I am posting - Yoga is a lot more than just stretching with hot girls around you.

I do DDP yoga a few times a week through their online app. I certainly feel like it helps. As a side note, kind of surprised some of the moves DDP can pull off at his age and the punishment his body went through from wrestling.

Yeah I basically just wanted to do some stretching not really about the hippy bullchit. I've never really bothered to stretch before but I guess age is catching up to me and I feel I need it, figured following a beginner yoga routine would be easier then just trying some random stretches but trying to do some of these poses was a massive fail.

It's not hippy bullsh*t, it's what Yoga is - people in the western world think Yoga is just some poses every few days, when in reality that's a small part and us less useful than eating healthy and exercising daily.

I'm not telling you to quit your job and take LSD, just to do a bit of research.

Ever since I came into unity with all that is, I have an even easier time making gainz, working, not being depressed, etc - don't be so dismissive and ignorant, it may be bad for you in the long run.

All I am trying explain is being a bit more mindful throughout the day, so that you make conscious decision and don't act compulsively, which is the main cause of dread, well in the west anyway, other countries need food to eat and children to school.

Yes, 100% recommend

I kept getting really sore it bands (the muscles around your knees) from running,it was excruciating and thought I was gonna have to give up running, went to physio a few times, they basically massaged my legs a bit and recommended a few yoga poses,

Started doing yoga a couple times a week, it is honestly a game changer. Don't get sore it bands anymore, can run faster, better posture, don't trip and fall while running as often anymore, it just helps with everything. Tbh I don't really get the whole holistic experience that some people talk about but it is great for core strength, flexibility, recovery and easing sore muscles, and supporting other forms of exercise.

I usually do yoga 2-3 times per week (srs)

Great for physical and emotional health, its definitely a habit you can pick up that will keep you healthier and happier for the rest of your life. Plus you're surrounded by hot girls who are barefoot and putting their bodies into all sorts of positions like happy baby, plow, etc. feelsgoodman

would marry a yoga instructor if given the chance (srs)

I never committed to it, but I would do those 'Manflow' 10min yoga sessions on Youtube.

I can confirm I felt 100% better afterwards. You need to stretch alot more as you get older.

Ain't that the truth. I used to be able to get away with a lot of the things when I was younger including some piss poor form.

Lol started doing some static stretching this week actually. Haven’t looked up a routine type deal yet, honestly the thought of setting aside another half hour every day for a fitness thing on top of lifting and cycling is no bueno
Lifts:
Squat: 460x1
Bench: 400x1
Deadlift: 575x1
OHP: 250x2
Weight: 180 lbs.

Don't have heroes; look up to no one. Because as long as someone's leading the way, the best you'll ever be is second.

Absolutely, no one can lift their entire life injury free without a lil stretching/yoga/mobility work/deep tissue work etc.

My squat form was much better and felt much better after getting into that.

And when you can get into the right position on technical lifts like squats you will be able to move more weight.

You don't need to pay someone and go to a class lol @ even thinking that

Look up some stretches and do them at home or gym

The pigeon pose and super couch stretch saved my life on squats/deadlifts
