How tf is there a season 5 of Cobra Kai?

Lamest show I've ever seen. Season 1 was cool, everything after is cringe. Literally a drama revolving around Little League dads purposely injuring kids and burning rivals business down lol. And yet they manage to pull every single original actor into the show. Incredible.

I loved Karate Kid growing up, and I can still enjoy watching it today, no problem.

And agreed, the first season of Cobra Kai was really good. The nostalgia was amazing. Maybe even the second season.

But what the hell is it doing now? It’s not good.

Bro it's not meant to be taken srs.

The most important part is you can see how much the writers care about the lore of the show.

It dropped off just a bit but got back to form. And I was the first person to lol @ the official thread saying it was the GOAT series.

Far from GOAT, but I admire how much the staff respects and admires the lore of the show. You can clearly see this isn't a cash grab.

An endeavor of respect and love for the IP should always be praised imo.

Was always cringe with all the teen soap opera crap even in S1. I would have loved it if they just focused on the original characters and made it a more adult drama but of course they went for the lowest cringe denominator to stay popular.

Have to admit them sticking to the originals in every case is pretty cool. I'd say the comedy wore off quick after S1 tho.

You and others seem unable to identify what things are about.

The story isn't about that.

It's about how seeming bad people can be good and good people can be bad, then shift back and forth as the try to understand who they really are.

The fights and all of that are just a way to make these points.

It's a great show due to what I have said as there are no clear good guys or bad guys.

I don't know. I really liked the story of Johnny Lawrence's redemption arc, which I believed was the original intent with Cobra Kai. The series followed that very well for most of the first season then it apparently fell by the wayside. Towards the end of the first season it turned into a teen drama where BFFs are made and broken, teenage breakup drama a la Dawson's Creek, and so forth.

That's actually a pretty solid point. They did a good job doing this with pretty much every character, even Kreese

Understood brah, but when I compared it to all the recent series that are pandering to woke/LGBTQ agendas... Which are honestly most shows.... I really felt like I had to support the one show that respects the lore. Just out of principle I hope they can learn a valuable lesson: Respecting the source material = massive profits.

Some poster on another forum commented on how much Tory had 'filled out'.

As for the show: I've been watching it mainly because a lot of actors from the original trilogy reprised their roles. Never had much interest in the teen drama aspect of the show.

Wish Johnny stayed an alcoholic an extra season or two. Was the peak of the show. But now that he is redeemed, nostalgia is the best well they're drawing from.
I always think I'm gonna hate it, "This show is getting stupid," but every time I start a new season I end up watching like 4 episodes.

Yes, I love the show for that reason.

I was amazed that the set out to make us care about Kreese.

The writer is really smart, and the show doesn't have much woke stuff and isn't about "canceling" people who are imperfect.

Each season the cringe factor starts high and increases as the season progresses to about halfway then tapers down in time for an interesting ending.

um every actor from the original show except danielson was broke as fuk and hasnt had crap going on in their career. even danielson hasnt had a real acting gig in like 25 years. i wonder how these people even made a living, they were probably all tradies and chit after the show.
