Head coach Scott Frost Fired from Nebraska, Who's next?

I grew up watching Nebraska football during the 90's dynasty and its incredible how far the football program has fallen. It seemed he was on the cusp of a breakthrough after last season. Even after going 3-9 all of the games were one score games and were incredibly close so people expected this to be the year.

Fast forward to the first game of the year losing to Northwestern. It seemed the team was about on par with North Dakota. Last night they lost to Georgia Southern, and it was frankly embarassing watching as a fan. The Defense was absolute trash. Hats off to that team, they looked incredible against Nebraska and their QB made some great throws.

I like the idea of getting Urban Meyer, if he has his heart in it and isn't going to come just for a quick buck. Even if he comes in just long enough to get Nebraska relevant in the Big ten that would be a major win.

Whoever Nebraska chooses to coach the football program I think the fan base has been humbled realizing how good we had it when firing coaches that won 9 games. Nebraska hasn't even made a bowl game for many years.

Frost was trying to get fired IMO for the buyout. He got 8 mill more for getting fired before the end of the month I think.

I suspect he came for the money.

Nebraska is not a top destination anymore IMO. Leaving the Big 12 killed their football program because they no longer had any rivalries. Same thing happened to Colorado as well. Texas and Oklahoma have real rivals in the SEC so they will be okay. Texas actually has it's 2nd and 3rd biggest rival in the SEC so they probably get better actually.

Nebraska's days of being a relevant football program are long over. The only people who would disagree are boomers that will tell us all about how they were a massive powerhouse back when Tom Osborne was coaching.

Nebraska will never see their glory days again. It's not a glamour spot for recruits, far from the rest of civilization, and lately hasn't been a hot bed for developing NFL talent compared to other programs. Up and coming coaches from G5 schools or powerhouse assistants won't bite at this job. They're gonna be stuck with hiring guys who failed at big name schools and are not ready to swallow their pride and go down to a G5 school.

They could be a powerhouse with the right coach IMO, but good luck finding him.

I mean Baylor won the big 12 last year

- star player Lawrence Phillips is quasi-dating some white girl
- entire Nebraska team knew this girl was off limits, because Phillips was overpossessive psycho
- despite above unwritten team rule, Frost fuks girl in his apartment
- Phillips goes psycho - goes to Frost's apartment and nearly beats girl to death
- beginning of the end of Lawrence Phillips era

I’ve also been a fan since the 90’s. Not only losing, but getting physically dominated by GS was probably the lowest the program has sunk during that time. Pathetic.

Scott Frost as a coach was a major fraud. Should not have been brought back this season.
Shouldn’t have been brought back after year 1. It was obvious that he wouldn’t improve the team even after the first year.

Maybe some Berkshire Hathaway NIL deals could help.

So some things came out this past week about Frost. He seemed to have an alcohol problem because alot of the assistant coaches were complaining to the athletic director that he was consistently showing up late to practice/hungover. It seems like it could be credible, he always looked like chit/hungover.

The golf team hated Frost because he and his buddies were always locking them out of the golf simulator at the University.

There was another story of Frost not making a BBQ at another Husker legends house to recruit the son because he got too drunk and had to have the meeting via a Zoom call from his hotel room.
This is all in addition to the drama that frost was cheating on his wife on the reg. Going out with the other coaches after games and getting wasted/ banging college broads.

We'll see what Mickey Joseph can string together for the rest of the season. I think the University should look to hire someone with proven big 10 experience. I still like Urban Meyer but it sounds like he has no interest so theres that.
