Do bad protein farts mean too much protein intake?

I’ve been making protein shakes lately with two giant scoops of Ka’Chava and a big scoop of ON Whey, and have been getting horrific protein farts. This didn’t used to happen in the past.

Probably like 60g protein in the shake. Is this from too much overall protein? Or something else?

Farts generally come from bacteria breaking down undigested sugars and complex carbohydrates in your intestines.

I thought I had horrible protein farts for a long while until I started mixing my protein with coffee instead of milk on a cut. Found out I'm mildly lactose intolerant. Next I was eating massive amounts of oatmeal and had gas issues, cut it out and no more gas.

Try an elimination diet, or some lactase pills if you have protonz with milk sugar in it.

I'm actually making the shakes with Almond Milk, which I assume has no lactose in it. I don't consume a lot of dairy to begin with, but haven't noticed any lactose intolerance issues in the past.

Are you eating protein bars too? The sugar alcohols in those will make you blow the club up every time

It's likely not the protein nor the lactose. My angus tornado clears up half the neighbourhood and turns out it's the artificial sweeteners that the gut microflora can't handle. Stevia might be alright but some of them put much harsher sweeteners in there which makes your farts smell like raw sewage mixed with jizzfarmer's yearly stock of cumen.

to answer the original question, I usually take 3 scoops with water after my morning workout with no other food until lunch. I've recently used Dymatized, Myprotein, and currently an old tub of MusclePharm Combat powder. No gas issues, still think it's something, maybe the Ka'Chava, I have no idea what that is.

No clue on farts, but how is Kachava btw?

Seems extremely pricey for a meal replacement, but I do like the massive list of superfoods on it.

Nah, any other protein throughout the day is from food. I stopped buying Protein bars because they end up fuking my cut up when I eat too many.

I like Ka'Chava actually. Tastes really good and is the only way I'd ever consider eating half of the ingredients in it.

Yes, it's a bit pricey but if you're using it as a meal replacement like I am it's justifiable. It's pretty rare to eat any decent meal for less than $4-5 nowadays to begin with, and this has everything you need.
