I bought in 2014 and it is now worth 2.5 times what I paid for it. I had a big down payment and my mortgage including property taxes and insurance is $900 a month. I'll be fine no matter what the market does.

Bought house in 2011, sold it in 2022 for over double what I'd paid for it.

Bought new house, put 100K into it fixing it up, got almost an acre and a great house. If/when it's price drops, oh well, I made bank already. Better to lose value with my new house than have lost all the gains I'd made.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Rentcels didn't seem to understand the basic concepts of math ... Probably why they rent.

My 7 year old house is probably double what I paid for it, with a cheap rate and mortgage. If the value goes down for a bit, who cares?

When I sell, it will probably be 3x what I paid. If not, I'll just buy another house (in a down market) and rent this one for profit.

How do I lose in any situation?

Sorry, Rentcels. Once a mortgage is paid off, and real estate drops, it's a great time to purchase more houses so Rentcel peasants can pay them off... Jimmies rustled?

It really doesn't matter unless I'm looking to sell. I'm not. On the other hand, I'll actually benefit because property taxes based on the assessed value of my home will decrease. Sorry rentcel, you lose again.

50% drop lmao

this absolutely will not happen

If it did, I would just wait til it goes back up, fixed rate mortgage

If I had to, I'd rent it for $800 more than my monthly payment if I needed to relocate

Just lol

Everything else, 50-200% increase

Housing 50% drop

You fgts realize it will stay the same but work like a drop due to everything else going up. Cost of new build is through the roof and supply / demand ratio isn’t exactly fuked. It’s like you guys can only think about one thing at a time.

I’m talking about inflation if ding dongs couldn’t figure out why housing won’t go down in actual price.

If they drop 50%, shattering the all time price drop record I may be slightly under water.

40% and I’ll be back where I started. Works for me
