Just as good of a question is which countries will break away initially, dropping sanctions so they can stay warm.

Why would they freeze to death?
There's energy. It will just be very expensive. Cuck.

Saw some data on the natural gas storage of Germany being 90%+ for this winter so they'll be aight. A lot of people use firewood for heating or wood pellets.

Hahahahahaha

Sure, but industry will be banned from using any. Chemicals is HUUUUGE in Germany, so there is going to be a greatest depression.

Personally, I think we in the West have become incredibly soft very quickly. Back in the 70s, you had a bit of coal to heat one room in the house and the bathtub once per week. Ice came in through the single glazed windows at night.

People are just going to have to sleep in one room together and wear more clothing. Houses are generally way better insulated now so it won't even be that bad.

Yes, a few grannies will get pneumonia from it but they have had such an easy ride for decades that I seriously am not capable of giving any fewer fuks.

I'm sure there will be an abnormally high "frozen to death" rate simply because people don't want to pay the rising energy costs. The real question for those idiots is..... what's the alternative? Not everyone has a fuking fireplace or enough blankets LMFAO. Regardless, I'll be nice and cozy in my American crib HNNNNNNG

My energy will be going up 5x in Jan 🤦‍♂️

I can afford it but would much rather we hand over part (or all?) of Ukraine.

Many won’t be able to afford it though.

Their emergency/backup reservoir is at 90%. I heard that their present reserves will only last for 2 months roughly, so I guess if it is only cold for 60 days they will be good.

They have already shut down a lot of their industry and have planned on government funded warming centers where people can gather when they can not afford to heat their homes.
One in 10 mid-sized companies, which provide nearly two thirds of German jobs, have cut or halted production because of gas prices, according to a September survey of nearly 600 mid-sized firms by business association BDI, reducing demand.

Industrial giants, in particular gas-heavy industries like chemicals, have begun shifting production and sourcing from elsewhere.
The overall tone of the article is "everything is fine, we've got the situation under control", but the shutdowns that have already occurred belie that interpretation of the current situation.

Don't want to or can't? It isn't like Europe doesn't also have plenty of people living paycheck to paycheck.
One family in Germany's state of Brandenburg, near the capital, Berlin, this week told their story on a call-in show on RBB public radio.

They said they were shocked to receive a letter from their local gas supplier notifying them of an upcoming price hike and asking them to pay an astronomical €1,515 ($1,477) instead of €143 a month for natural gas to heat their single-family home on the outskirts of Berlin.

In Germany, households pay a monthly advance on their gas and electric bills and then receive an annual statement reconciling the prepayments with the cost based on actual usage at the end of the billing year.

A tenfold increase is simply not feasible, the caller from Brandenburg said on the radio show.
Reports like the one from Brandenburg are becoming more frequent now that it is getting colder in Germany and the heating period is beginning. Many gas providers, and electricity providers as well, have begun sending out notifications announcing a threefold or greater increase in the monthly advance.

According to the latest surveys, 40% of people in Germany expect to have problems with paying their energy bills in the coming winter. Half of all German households use natural gas for heating.
^^^
I'm thinking that would be plain impossible for a lot of people to cover.
