What makes you think an equally old partner will be taking care of you? Good chance they will have health issues and you might have to take care of them even in your old age.

Actually, I was thinking of my children taking care of me in old age. I'm single with no children. If I were married, then I would have kids to have that nuclear family.

I was when I first bought my farm, now I've realized taking care land and animals on your own is tough. Probably try to get remarried in the next 3-5 years.

Get in shape today and you will be able to care for yourself. Simple things like eating right and exercise. Thats really al it takes. An object in motion stays in motion.

If your main reasoning for being happy single is that you now don't have to 'fight' with a woman, you've never done it right in the first place. Apart from the occasional bickering, there shouldn't be major, regular fights in a healthy relationship. That's just a symptom of poor communication. Consider trying again and instead approaching it with more insight before making your final judgment about contentment being single (srs). Lay a good foundation.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, many kids don't take care of their parents when they get old. So that is also no guarantee either. Lots of people i know see their parents once or twice a year total. so even in your old age, you would have some kids visiting 5 out of 365 days a year and may or may not help you financially.
