Newsflash, Metallica sucked after Cliff and Dave were gone.
Period.
Sepultura also sucked.
Anthrax were a bunch of you know who's, who hooked up with rappers, and that's their only claim to fame.
Fact.

They started out as death metal and went the groove metal route. They are more in like with Pantera, Lamb of God, Black Label Society, Machine Head, etc.

Sepultura had some great songs.
Their only album from memory which was solid all the way through was Arise.
Also, in my experience, the majority of people who hug Sepultura's nuts just do so because they're seen as ethnic/non-white (coming from Brazil).

As for anthrax ,being a nyc band i prob saw them 25 times back in the day at lamour
This is their best album and most people have never even heard of it
Obviously not Joey, which is a mediocre vocalist for the genre

You *******s are all wrong
It should be Megadeth , Metallica , Slayer and Pantera for the big 4
I know like one forgettable anthrax song called madhouse
Judas Priest has one good song
Sepulture was death metal before their groove sound/Soulfly
No one even knows who the **** exodus and testament are , souls of black is just okay but nothing outstanding
The 4 I listed are the most influential metal bands of all time

First if all, it's the Big 4 ofthrash. Pantera is not fukking thrash lol.
Also regarding Anthrax, the forgettable song you know is on the album that also has Medusa. That song is catchy as fuk I don't care what you say lol.
Testament has one pure gold album, The Legacy. Everything after was 40% good tracks, the rest meh. The Gathering was pretty tits tho. On the whole they are a solid fukking act tho and are considered by many the fifth member of the Big 4.
For influential it's either Judas Priest or Black Sabbath. Lol at "one good song." Bro you are fukking deaf and dumb if you're serious.
Also go listen to Gung Ho.
Virtue is its own reward.

What influence does Black Sabbath have on any modern metal that’s come out in the last 20 years ? A couple of underground sludge and stoner metal bands ?
No one is denying they started the genre dude. Calm the **** down. Stopped being triggered. Sabbath and Motörhead is what got me into metal as a 6 yr old.
Pantera is 100% thrash. Only someone who’s talking out of their ass would say that lmao
^ Not “fast enough” to be thrash yet ?
“they slow down the time signature sometimes and use slow fills in most of their songs , not thrash enough bro”
btw Pantera ****ing pulverizes any other “thrash” band other than slayer tbh

I doubt a single person here would call Pantera a thrash band. Have they made thrashy songs? Maybe. They are not a thrash band. I wouldn't call any band Halford was a part of thrash for the same reason. Lot of thrashy songs, not a thrash band.

A lot of young millennials/Gen Zers my age probably don’t know sabbath and deep purple pioneered the genre. Ofc they’ve had the biggest influence of all time lol.
You can add venom for death and black metal as well. They where around before thrash even took off.
