Really torn about Chucky the TV series
On one hand they have done a great job bringing the feel of the horror of the "Child's Play" movies to the next generation of teens/young adults
On the other hand the near-constant homosexual relationship scenes & cellphone usages are just ironically cringe worthy & out of place(I know they're pandering to woke-zoomer culture but also making fun of it)
Chucky was always a "campy" homage to Halloween's Michael Myers; they were always very similar with Child's Play often referencing it
Child's Play 1 & 2 were terrifying movies with crazy practical effects, especially as a small kid, chit gave me night terrors srs
(inb4 it's a doll just kick him)
On a third hand I'm just glad they continued franchises like Scream/Chucky/Michael Myers etc even if they aren't as good as before

Turned it off maybe 15 minutes in once I realized they had middle schoolers as homosexuals.
Rarely do I get disgusted by stuff like this but that was seriously too far. They're supposed to be f*cking middle schoolers. That's so gross to produce and watch a show like that. Even in depth heterosexual relationship dialogue for a middle school scene is just weird and gross for that matter. That's not real life. Way too adult for a middle school setting; this is legit some pe** sh*t.

The show does become more about Chucky(Charles Lee Ray) & adds a ton of explanatory lore; fills in a ton of plot holes from the previous movies
There are some insanely gnarly kills; there's a scene where he goes around stabbing people in the genitals *shudders*

The creator of Chucky is gay so I don't really mind him basing characters on his own experience. It never feels preachy, it's just two gay bruhs.
Show is funny, Brad Douriff crushes it, they are respecting the lore of the entire franchise and even somehow connecting very tonally different movies into a cohesive TV show, bringing back Kyle and Andy and Tilly and Douriff's hot daughter and so on.

Never cared for Seed, that one went too far into the comedy vibe. And even Bride was more comedy than anything.
The show has been pretty good. Reminds me of Ash vs Evil Dead, better than it has any right to be.
