Tore my pec last night (srs)
Bench press, repping 295, relatively easy but on the 4th rep as it was coming down, I felt like somebody ripped off a shirt of my body internally. I actually heard it too, sounded like fabric tearing.
Thankfully some dude was spotting me, and nothing more happened.
Ended up going to the ER, ultra sound, mri etc, waiting on the results of the mri but judging from the ultrasound doctor says it’s very likely I won’t need surgery.
Not sure on that one, but we will see, will have a second opinion later on the week.
Listen to your gut guys, your body has ways of telling you that you are pushing yourself over your limits. I’m looking at at least a few months of recovery/therapy before I can even think about upper body hyper trophy.
That’s life son. Just wanted to share, hope everyone stays safe and take it easy on your strength goals (for the few lifters that remain here)

Maybe you got lucky and have a muscle belly tear rather than a tendon tear.
As you probably know, muscle belly tears require light weight, high rep lifts as rehab to prevent scarring.

Last night I repped 275 x 8 and thought for a minute if I should take it up or call it done then, and I made the wrong call. Thankfully I didn’t tore it in that 275 set because I didn’t have a spotter there and something bad could have happened.

According to ultra sound it’s a partial tear. Some of the tendon tore off, rest still there. Not sure I want scar tissue there

sounds like a similar tear i had to my patellar tendon, the only true lifting injury i have had, and it was 100% due to ego lifting, not obvious ego lifting, but doing hack squats with 8 plates a side and a reverse band, both stupid decisions. I also used improper form, not even that bad as well, but no ones quads are strong enough to CORRECTLY rep 8 pps on hacks except specific elite powerlifters and top level IFBB pro bodybuilders, dead serious.
Ever since dropping ego lifting 100% and becoming anti ego lifting and focusing extremely hard on proper technique i not only have had 0 injuries while growing more than ever but completely got rid of all tendon issues.
Just my 2 cents.

I'm above 2 plates now, but I dont even really bother putting that weight on anymore. All in all, I'm able to lift still but it can get sore at times so I know my limits.
