What’s the best way to move across the states

Say if I’m Florida trying to go to Washington state, what’s the cheapest way to do it, plane? Drive?, I’ve read it would be good to already have a job lined up(idk how)

Years ago I moved from IL to California with no job lined up and about 12-13k. I drove down there and stayed with a single mom with 3 kids in Venice, California for $900 a month.

The drive was about 3 days and I stayed at 2 motels on the way for cheap (fukking disgusting but got the job done). Gas back then wasn't too bad either.

Had no idea what I was doing but it was a good time, a huge learning experience, and made me realize that California was soon to be destroyed which is why I moved back lol.

I'd say at least 6-12 months worth of savings before you do the move - ideally, 18 months just to be safe w/ this current cluster of an economy.

Pack and take w/ you really only the essentials and what actually brings value to your life to the new state.

At that point, just find a quick hotel/motel that you can rent for a bit & try finding a place to live and job hunting - maybe something in a field you already did where you're at now.



That's essentially what I would do in the event I decide to move in the future.

Ideally you will have a job position & housing arrangements made before you physically move

Then you hire a moving company to pack your stuff & drive it there so you can unload it
