Why does everyone compare salary?
When they should really be comparing net worth
Yet you almost never hear how much is someone worth, only how much do they make, outside of when people talk about billionaires.

Ego boost and validation. Just like people brag about everything on social media.

Networth is how much yohr worth/how much your potential profit is

it's mostly poorcels that do so to cope because they make an extra $500 a year gross than their other poorcel friend.
Truly wealthy people don't want others to know. It just exposes them to crime, harassment and unnecessary attention. If anything, they should be down playing what they make to avoid envy.

Comparing either is cringe and in poor taste, Opie.
Your schtick sucks and it screams insecurity.

CEOs and other execs will sometimes downplay their salary to make it seem like they aren’t overpaid. “But my salary is only $190k, i am not costing the company much compared to the knowledge i bring to the table”. Yet they conveniently leave out the $4million bonus they get each year. That is why salary is a VERY bad indicator of what people make or their disposable income is.

More important is to focus on how much leisure time your income/assets afford you

The internet is the only place in the world where everyones salary is bigger than the persons before them.
magic how that works but it seems to every time the discussion comes up.

"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

Because it's future earning potential. Net worth isn't really anything incoming. Maybe you have it invested maybe you don't. If it is invested maybe it's not invested well. Way too many factors with net worth whereas with salary you can say this person is going to be accumulating this amount of money each year for the foreseeable future.
It's also a better representation of your worth to society. Net worth may have been accumulated through inheritance or investments. That tells me nothing about the individual. Salary at least tells me this person is skilled or valuable enough for someone else to want to pay them this amount right now.

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."
