I entered into half a mortgage when I was 19. House went from 470k to 1mil when we sold 10 years later. Yeah I had to make payments every week but that money would have been going no where if I was renting. I got it all back and a hefty profit when we sold. I really can't comprehend rentcels and their coping mechanisms because they're so far out of touch with reality.

Tell me how living in a paid off house is a worse financial decision than renting.

For what I pay in taxes a year I couldn't even get a 1 bedroom basement.
