There was a monument to the "cow cavalry" here that was removed by the jewish lawyer mayor and he isnt even from florida, he came here from new york and it pissed me off. The cow cavalry would watch over cattle make sure they werent killed in raids and would run the cattle to fort brooke/tampa and cedar key to be sent to cuba in exchange for gold and silver to fund the confederate payroll and also the meat was used to feed the guys fighting. A bunch of them died in a battle/raid and there was a monument for them. Stupid to tear down our history.
