when you listen to most people talk about what they are excited about its almsot always tied to consumerism

pretty nuts and sad. I listen to family, my wife, my best friends all talk and its shocking how much happiness they derive from consumerism. I honestly have no attachment to any material possessions really. Always been something people found curious about me. I only move with furniture usually or buy new stuff when i move. Always bargain shop. Always spend the least amount possible on 99% of things. Never have a desire to do anything that involves spending money unless its a requirement for entertainment like seeing a movie or going to a park or something like that or buying something i need, paying for gym membership etc... I tried consumerism out for about a year a couple years ago and it just didnt do anything for me and i hated it.

i was talking to my friend today and saying how funny it is that 10 years ago you were possibly written up but most deifnitely yelled at for being on your phone at work.

now, everyone is on their phone all day at work including the supervisors and directors and owners/ceos.

people are 100% addicted to screens and consumerism

I'm out every day. Literally everyone just looks at screens, eats, drinks or does drugs. It's been like this since 2015 srs.

That was the year all of this hyperconsuming culture took over but it's waaayy worse now

In 2011 you'd never even see this chit as everyone had goals and hobbies not involving screens and drugs

I don't remember anyone even drinking caffeine or having social media in 2011. It's insane how much things changed.
