ITT I shavepill you on safety razors

When it comes to shaving, I am guessing that most miscers either

1. own some Mach 80 cartridge razor and pay a chit ton for cartridges.
2. just ride a worn cartridge or disposable forever, and end up with some fukkin 8th grade looking dirty Mexi-stache.

Well there's a better way to do this stuff.

Safety razors cut closer and more aesthetically than cartridges, and they blow the cost of disposables out of the water. 1 razor blade lasts you a week and you can buy them for 10 cents each. When it dulls, you can pop that fukker out and get a fresh sharp shave, without simping $5 to Daddy Gillette or throwing away a whole plastic handle.

When the blade tin gets full, you empty it in a coffee can, duct tape that fukker shut good, and throw the coffee can in the recycling. Then reuse the more aesthetic blade tin.

Save more. Shave better. Cut yourself occasionally. Put your used blades in Halloween candy. It's just all good

I want to learn how to shave with a straight razor.
I own 3 safety razors, a Harry's handle, Mach 3 handle, and a Phillips Norelco electric.

Any suggestions for good straight razor brands and models?

Can confirm safety razors are goat for shaving. Astra blades are great, too, but I'm more partial to Treet. I swear I can get upwards of like 20 shaves out of one fcking blade of those things.

and if you want to step up your shaving, invest in a bowl + badger hair brush and whip up some proper shaving cream like Taylor of Old Bond. I ran out of shaving cream recently and had to use an old can of Barbasol I had deep under my bathroom sink, my face was itching like crazy afterwards.

I agree they are the best.

I have a merkur that I have been using at least 10-12 years and its like new. Not some top of the line thing either, just one of their standard ones.

Buy a fairly decent brush and soap too. You will see tons of super expensive ones but you dont need that. Again just a standard one is fine but you want one a step above the walmart versions. I use Arko soap. Its cheap at amazon and works good for me.

I guess they use it in turkish barber shops and those guys are hairy as apes.

I stopped shaving my face.

I shave my head 2-3 times a week only with the grain. I haven't bought cartridges for over a year, and haven't had any issues cutting myself, get a close shave, and it takes me about 1 min.

I'm good.

tried this once, the juice wasn't worth the squeeze.

went back to barbasol, and the $2.99 12-pack of disposable razors with the blue handle. I probably pay less than $25/yr on my stuff, and don't need to lather up the soap, or switch out blades, etc.

I shave probably 2-3 times a month and a straight razor is not it. I have a bunch of safety razors with 5 blades and it's so easy. (Ded fkn Srs)
