This bridge is called the can opener in North Carolina….. was built 80 years ago and they can’t fix it without spending a **** load of money

Seems like the smart thing to do would be to dig the road deeper. There is probably a reason why they can not.

Why would they dig the whole road deeper as opposed to just raising that one bridge?

The road could be hundreds of miles long for all we know.

This honestly just sounds like a BS answer from a lazy government branch. Most of these accidents are taking place due to the trucks being a few inches too high. They could scrape 6 inches from the road and not worry about the sewer.

There's one like that in my town. Gets hit all the time. Last week a moving company peeled their entire roof off their box truck and dumped the peoples chit all over the ground lol
