I don't like blanket statements pretty much ever. Saying "the whole left is like XYZ" is a blanket statement.
To be completely honest, there are probably some people on the left who are both intelligent and sincere with their goals, and they aren't just secretly racist people pushing an agenda.
That being said... I am comfortable saying that the type of person he's describing seems unusually common on today's left. More so than anything, I notice that the premise of leftist ideology is based on anti-whiteness, blaming most issues on white people, and trying to "take them down a notch" or vilify them whenever possible, using tactics that seem subtle but actually aren't.
Most of these racist beliefs are rooted in ignorance and a lack of knowledge of how the world works and history.
