This isn't necessarily a bad thing for Republicans because it means that during the next presidential election Democrats will have to answer for the previous 4 years and we are already off to a terrible first 2 years with not alot of good prospects for the next 2.

2 more years and there will be even LESS of a recucklican base to vote at all. Every month and year that passes. Millions more illegals flood into our country and vote D. Millions more are born from the previous ones.
