$30 million at 40, $300 million at 50, or $3 billion at 60? Staying afloat and living normie middle class until then.
And why?

3 @ 30. Invest 2 in indexes/mutual funds/etc, buy house outright in the $300-500k range, then use the remainder as start up capital for dat der slumlord life. Could have everything on cruise control by 35 and surpass that 30 million mark by 40.

3 billion at 60. I would just tell the bank and investors about the deal and cut them on the deal in exchange for money.

Def not choices 3 or 4.
If you've been either impoverished or an underearner for too long a period of time, getting a ton of money at 50 or older won't undo a lot of the damage that will have likely have happened to you by 50, and especially 60.
I'd say somewhere between 1 and 2. Maybe like 10-15 million at 35, given the general parameters and sliding scale of the money-in-relation-to-age that the poll choices seem to be indicating.
At 60 you could help out a ton of people with 3 billion, but if by then your health (both physical and mental) are largely unreversible, what's the point, because you wouldn't be able to help yourself all that much if you were fairly debilitated. You're also likely to be pretty bitter by then if like has largely passed you by. At 50, I'd say that the likelihood of this isAT BEST50/50, even after you get $300 million.
Besides, money comes and goes and can vanish in a flash. But turning back the clock is literally impossible.

30mil at 40yo.
3 mil at 30 is too little too soon, and if you don't have the right mindset it could be easy to blow through that and have nothing left. If you weren't already in a good position, then you'd be fuked. If you were...you wouldn't need the 3 mil.
the last two options are just too late in life to make the money worth it, unless you have kids and want to set up your family for generations. with 30mil at 40, you could comfortably retire, continue to grow the bulk of it, and still enjoy life and do things without your aging body being a huge limiting factor.

$3m @ 30.
4% withdrawal rate would be $120k/yr.... and would last me for my entire lifetime, that is with inflation factored in.
I could still work if I wanted, but if I didn't want to, I wouldn't need to. You could easily raise a family with legitimately zero stress.

3 million at 30 and I'd be forced to live a life of minimalism like Gordon. Give me at least 30 million so I can do what I want.

Could def fall into a slump trying to find passion/purpose and not have a ton of cash to lose if an investment goes south with 3mil at 30.

The last two years before I retired were miserable. I absolutely loathed going to work.
Had I just been a normal 9-5 for lifer type, I probably would've just happily gone to work every day for another 25 years.
I actually hadn't considered how messed up trust funders probably are when they know they get a large amount of money at a certain age guaranteed. I had to work for mine and it made work a slog.

300 million at 60.
Leave my kids with true generational wealth.
Leave my kids with true generational wealth.
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.
