I enjoyed this 80's romance movie...



It was pretty much an 80's version of Romeo and Juliet. It had a good 80's soundtrack.


Plot: "Julie, a girl from the valley, meets Randy, a punk from the city. They are from different worlds and find love. Somehow they need to stay together in spite of her trendy, shallow friends."

No conspiracy, but all those movies were the same...convincing the well raised upper middle class white girl(their audience) to choose anything but that in a mate.....no different than now, except the bad guy of yesteryear(white guy from wrong part of town, but always with the heart of gold) has simply been replaced with more sexually and ethnically diverse options.

The overriding intent/narrative remains the same...
