The hardest part to imagine about this is that the majority are coming from areas of the world such as Africa where there aren't any or enough resources to go around. Having multiple children vs. having those kids live up to a certain age are two different things. If you look at the average age of the children in that area, most are under 10. The numbers drop sharply as you go up each age bracket. The 8 billion is largely supported because thankfully the vast majority of the world is living well beyond thirty. If you reversed everything and had Africa or other poor areas of the world become the pinnacle of healthy lifestyles and economic systems, Europe and the USA would become huge population centers just the same.

Incredible to think that it took from the beginning of time, whether you believe in big bang or sky wizard, until 1940 to reach 2 billion. But only from 1940 to now to quadruple that. All within my fathers lifetime. He was alive when there was 2 billion, and he is walking around today with 8 billion.

Asia has 4.6 Billion

Europe has 746 million

North America has 579 million

South America has 422.5 million

Oceania has 43.7 million

Antarctica population depends on the season.

So most is in Asia
