Ok red, no AVI.
Itwouldbe impressive.
At 6'6" when I was 270 (and 12 years younger) I used to be able to get 5, solid, no swing reps with the 70's sitting down on a straight back seat.
Now I just fuk with the 50's/55's or EZ Bar curl with 110/120
Itwouldbe impressive.

If i saw someone curl 70s yeah id be mirin. Thing is though. You can very easily lowkey ego lift on curls. I can hit a set of 12s to failure either with a 30lber or a 50lb. Nobody could tell the difference but me.
For this reason you never see anybody curling over 50s. Even the biggest guys i seen only go to 40-60

Also....good luck on your putting a hole in your apartments drywall goals.
If you can curl your bodyweight....it just means you're not heavy enough.

I agree, I never really see anyone so 50+ with good form, they usually have some swing/momentum added. Thats why im thinking about recording myself doing this because I can’t seem to find many people doing it with good form

Yes. I could do 60 3x8 strict when I was in full beast mode after around 3 yrs of training. 75 is impressive as hell. Strict doesn't mean no swing btw. You have to swing a little. It has to do with the mechanics of your lower back stabilizing you. If you do it seated, you won't need to swing. Also hammer curling is much easier than a standard curl.

yes, but most people are swinging the weight and using momentum. it's rare to see people using good form on even 50s, let alone 70s.
depending on the types of curls i'm doing i'm usually using 20s-40s. I think a bit of momentum is okay for heavier weights to mix in from time to time to expose the biceps to heavier weights. but there comes a point where your biceps aren't even doing the majority of the work and it becomes egregious.
incline seated db curls I find to be really nice, and it's hard to go heavy on these

I cringe when guys go super heavy on bicep curls... not because there's anything necessarily wrong with it, but mostly due to me being terrified of tearing a bicep lol
Imagine you're trying to jam your pork sword into some braindead sorostitute's meat wallet that night. You think you can just walk away from that?

This reminds me of highschool when everyone asked how much you benched the second you said you lifted. Going heavy is dumb. It's all about making the weight feel heavy, and chasing the pump. (Ded fkn Srs)

You gotta get strong at everything, even lateral raises i progressive overload. Pump chasing can still be acheived on drop sets but progressive overload is always the bottom line
Look at all the professional arm curlers, even the arm wrestlers and they are all strong af and have huge arms. Get strong ffs

i got 2 reps of 80's on a birthday and it really wasn't worth it to me.
The form sucked, i am sure there was some swing, and it didn't do much except give me a 5 day pump.
Now using 50's with strict form and high reps is where it is at for me, it just feels better.

Curls is a meme lift. Think it favors tall people. Im 6’6 and curls were by far my best exercise always. Worked out with a guy who did close grip bench w 3 plates for reps & i mogged him on biceps curls hard despite only repping a little over 2 plates on regular bench.

Pump & fluff is fuk all if youre natty w avg genetics.
Ngl. Im gon swerve off topic here for a bit.
True average bench after 5 yrs of natty training is probably 245lbs. Dl maybe 330. Squat atg 225 for a 5
Mfs at the gym aint making any gains i because they copy cbums back workouts that has first 2 exercises 20 rep cable pulls. See it year after year.

I think those lifts are kinda low for 5 years lol, maybe 2 years? but yeah a lot of people dont have the most effiecient workouts.
People need to tailor their workouts FOR THEM and not gove a fuk what cbum does. a lot of people should start your workout targeting their weak bodypsrts. If you have chit rear delts, stop starting your shoulders with front delts, hammer your rear delts from the stsrt and vary the rep ranges and get strong at them
