Change the voting laws. Tax paying men, or hell even just tax paying people in general would vote in some decent conservatives after me. Maybe up the age a bit too cuz 18 year olds are kinda idiots most of the time.
Term limits for congress and senate seem like a no brainer too. And of course secure election processes.

I would suggest that the principles of religion, whether you are atheist/agnostic or not, stood the test of time throughout all of history, and that it does not matter if you think following these principles will get you into heaven or not, well, it does matter, but for the sake of the health of the country, my goal here is not to convert you to fear God, but simply to recognize the validity of the traditions. That sexual deviance leads to degeneracy, that a beautiful woman under improper authority is like a golden ring in the nose of a pig, that the structure of a household requires the role of a husband and wife to be filled by 2 people, it does not need two husbands, it does not need two wives, and it does not need one person taking on the role of both husband and wife, and the same dynamic applies to the roles of mother and father.
I would also suggest that the debate of life at conception or birth or anywhere in between is not a talking point anymore. That the human being, like many other creatures, has different "stages" of it's being. Much like a catipillar is and is not a butterfly, a fetus is simply a stage of human life. Additionally, much like we can accept the death of an old man to save the life of a young girl, there must be allowed circumstances where the death of the fetal-stage of a human is acceptable in place of the life or, in some cases, yes, the lifestyle, of a born human being.
Lastly. Lions.
I would put 1 lion in a city per 10,000 people who live in that city.
Free roaming lions which are protected by law from being shot or trapped.
These will solve homelessness, they will solve fitness, they will solve crime. the lions would solve a lot of problems.

Probably set the country on a path for complete destruction while ensuring my and my family’s / friends resources and safe space / preparations.
Cities definitely need to be checked with how much power they have despite complete inability to take care of themselves.

I don't know that it would be #1, but it would be close...
GREATLY expand public transportation, and make sure that all the vehicles are electric or really low gas hybrid.
I'd want to make it to where in any city of, say, 100,000+, I'd want to make sure that over 90% of the inhabitants of the city wouldn't have to walk more than 1/4 of a mile to get to a public transportation stop and that they wouldn't have to wait more than 20 minutes, at least 11 hours a day, 6 days a week. (We need to start observing Sundays more again, if not so much as "sabbath" moreso as a day when most people don't have to work and there can be dedicated leisure/family time). If they live way in the back of a gated community, then they are S.O.L. Those communities would have to organize their own internal shuttles to get residents to said bus stops.

Simplify the the tax code, standardize education standards, standardize gun laws across the whole country. Enact much more severe punishments for violent crimes, try to shrink the government. End lobbying. Move towards a more self sufficient trade policy.

Break up monopolies. Capitalism is a great, but it falls apart when there is no competition. Right now we have 2 institutional investment companies with a controlling interest in every company in the world. Break them up and maybe ban institutional investors from having controlling interest in companies. Under that, we have de-facto tech/media monopolies that need to be broken up.
For criminals, we need to reduce prisons and institute a system of banishment. We need some vast wild area; and for violent criminals, or repeat criminals, we say, "You can't live by the rules, you're on your own now." We give them a small knife and some rope release them into the wild.
Welfare is temporary. Everyone can have a run of bad luck, but if it's your permanent lifestyle...Nope. After a short period of time, you don't get free money anymore. Being on welfare becomes shameful. If you want food you line up at a soup kitchen. You need clothes, you get a jumpsuit.
3.5 Day work weeks. We live in the future. Robots do most stuff, why are we still working 5 days a week 9-5 like it's the 1960's? In terms of doing actual work, most people probably only do like 3 hours of work a day and the rest is just bsing and pretending to look busy. Let's give people half their life back.

It would bring manufacturing back to the united states, afterwords all of these massive manufacturing facilities would be reporposed bringing back jobs and employment en mass.
There would be huge surplusses. Example after the previous world wars ammonium sulfate and ammonium nitrate, waste products of artillery production, Were found to be effective fertilizers fueling an agriculture revolution. Essentially all of todays synthetic fertilizers are built off of these compounds
