4k TV is TOO HIGH DEF

SRS

Watching that Wednesday show and I can see on jenna ortega earlobes that they have put putty on them to cover up her ear piercing holes and I can see her face plastered in makeup

Also when I watch star trek the next generation I now get distracted by the individual grey hairs in rikers beard

Also when watching 4k porn I can see too much of everything.

They should have stopped at 1080p.

proper 4k with high bit rate reveals a lot (hint streaming sites arent real 4k even if they give you the option). can see even all the small pimples on sloots face and yellowing at the edges of teeth which even their tooth whitening missed.

Women are the biggest victims of 4k. Can't hide behind makeup anymore. Those aging news anchors are well up chit creek.

And boogers up peoples nostrils.

It's too much, I put my Netflix on 1080p.

I felt the same way when I recently bought a couple of 4k TVs for my house. I tweaked the picture settings using the "cinema" preset, which makes the image a bit softer and less revealing.

I agree with this. Sometimes it's possible to have too much detail. I still use 1080p and I'm perfectly happy with it.

I have 2 4k tv's and both are set at 480p to have that old school tube TV look. I even taped a pair of pliers to the front for nostalgic throwback of when I had to turn the broken dial for my old man

Use rtings.com to calibrate it and turn off the post processing

You might have it too vivid and less natural looking than it's supposed to be

Get a calibration disc and properly calibrate your TV.

Do some research, get a decent set ( should cost you about $1800), look up on cnet or a/v forum what are the best settings for your brand as a starting point

Imagine spending $ on a 4k TV and having the image look like chit.

Agree OP. Even 1080p made some of my local weather girls etc look bad. 4k is higher def that I see real stuff with my eyes. I don’t need to see every pore and blackhead etc.
