Won't mention job or salary due to detectiving, but it's in the cyber security field.

The process so far

1. Send Resume and cover letter, with another document about what I can provide the company and salary expectations
2. 5 min phone interview with basic questions
3. Send a document going into depth about my skills and what I accomplished with them
4. Taking a 10 minute video of myself explaining my hobbies and my personal life 5 years from now
5. Interview almost entirely about what I like to do
6. Move over to coffee shop for *out of the books* casual talk (in reality a personality interview)
8. Follow up phone interview about what I learned so far during the screening process
9. Meeting with executive over dinner today with my GF and his wife. He barely even talked other than whine to his wife.
10. Will get yes or no something this week

Other than the step 1-3, everything has been about my personal life and softball questions. Never got asked much about my previous job like what I didn't like or even typical questions like my weakness/strength. They just screen for the minimum and hire whoever fits into their culture. I only found out now that getting to step 9 meant nothing in terms of my chances of getting hired, which is why I made this thread. That they will go through this process with 1 person a month and only hire if the executive "feels like you're a good man", otherwise they're ok leaving it empty because it's a high paid job with no important duties to keep the company running. Basically, some rich guy wants a friend and will keep wasting the company's resources and his own time until he gets 1 he likes. I pretty much wasted my time because that person barely talked to me, I'm assuming he wanted me to defeat his wife with arguments or something

When it’s a high end job they will approach you, you don’t need to send in applications or resumes or whatever

They also pay for your travel and accomodation to attend interviews etc

Def not a high end job. Been through many high end job interviews. They are all alike and nothing like above

Sounds more like a series of social events rather than an interview for a 'high-end' job

I’m invoicing $95/hr right now and came on board for the current projects after a previous boss just randomly called (srs)

That's literally the reason for this thread. It's not typical, it's a person looking for an work buddy and doesn't care if it gets filled or not. They have interviewed exactly 1 person a month for 9 months
