A record number of young adults in the US are currently living at home, and all that saved rent is sparking a luxury boom.

Recent data from the US Census Bureau shows that nearly half of young Americans between the ages of 18 and 29 are living with their parents today. That's a historical high not seen since the Great Depression era, Morgan Stanley analysts wrote in a Friday note.

I mean that's dumb they're buying luxury goods but I still think they probably can't afford much of a living outside of the home in a lot of cases

Even if you're buying luxury goods once every couple months, it still doesn't show you can afford your own rent + other monthly bills

No one's and I don't blame anyone or anything, anymore.

Few years ago I took life on easy mode (too much was never going to be good) and now it's become a habit. Although I tried finding a job on many ocassions, but nothing good happened and then I gave up. Been living on my own since 25 but about to move back in for like 6 months (moving back to my home state).

Not looking forward to it - but it needs to be done and I'm wanting to buy a house soon within a year or two.

Lower income people live better than me. Srs. There's a bunch of new apartments down the road, very nice, and the rent is based on your income. I make too much to qualify, but similar apartments in the area cost $1,300 for a one bed room...meanwhile these brokecels are paying like, 500

I moved back recently. No plans of homeownership in sight but will be moved out soon again if I can find a job I'm happy with

I feel kinda bad for dudes that will never know the feel of walking around his house completely naked. Flexing in mirrors. Etc. To have girls over and just walk around naked or just panties. To smash your woman in any room of the house, whenever you feel like it. Etc.

At that point its just a self fulfilling prophecy man. Even if you have your **** together in other regards once you are 25+ living with parents its a massive turnoff for women.

In America you're pretty much removing a large portion of women from your dating pool. And in turn solidify the fact that its just going to be you and your parents.

As a guy who bought a house at a fairly young age (Most of my friends bought a house by 26-27 also). Its a massive qualifier for women. If you live alone and/or own your own home it makes dating/hooking up with women 10x easier. Especially if you have a hot tub in your back yard because you can essentially invite women over for drinks in the hot tub and its pretty much like shooting fish in a barrel.




Unless your parents are just extremely wealthy as **** and you live in a mansion and drive super cars living with parents is a death sentence for dating/sexual adventures.

i moved back in during covid as i was made redundant and i was living overseas

had nowhere else to go. could have rented somewhere but wanted to save cash and they didn't mind

Nah, some are OK. I used to deliver pizzas to different housing projects. Some do background checks or credit checks. Even credit checks do pretty good at weeding out the scum

I had bought 2 houses and was living comfortably by age 29. I'm 32 now. Glad I'm not a weak and retarded millennial. Not surprised though. The system wants you to be dependent on government and college loans. Plus the woke victim mentality so many millennials have and are pushing. They don't have a chance...

As someone who was a rentcel for 5 years, it's actually better to stay with your parents a little longer so you can save up and buy a house/condo. You don't want to get stuck in the rentcel trap just to impress a few 20 year olds. Throwing money away on rent is probably the biggest financial mistake I've ever made and it probably set me back a few years financially
