Monk mode

Have any of you boyos ever achieved this state

People call it monk mode where you are in an intense state of focus for an extended period of time and severely cut out all distractions while you work towards something specific

Kinda my own sect. A mix of Taoism and Buddhism, and some other ideas. Traditional monks don't use technology while I do.

Seems like distractions may be involved and less focus because of tech

I always lol at these things. You have one life and instead of living it to the fullest you sit around with eyes closed all day trying to achieve some mental state

I'm not talking about being a monk or spiritual. I meant being in an intense state of focus to achieve a goal

Some youtube entrepreneurs talk about this

Yeah I’ve done it before. It’s kind of whatever you make of it and you can make it can last for one year or one day, it’s up to you.

There’s no exact formula for it, but basically I just cut out anything unhealthy or distracting and focus entirely on activities that are self-improving. So tomorrow if you work out, eat healthy, don’t watch p0rn or Netflix, and read a book then you can consider it a day in monk mode. Just take it one day at a time and go from there.
And relief washes over me in an awesome wave

Monk mode is retarded srs and is a cope to feel better about yourself in the current moment instead of chasing what you’re after out of insecurity of not feeling “worthy” enough or something so you justify it by “unplugging” from all social aspects of life instead of working on it “until you’re ready”

Why not focus on all areas of life? You can absolutely do reading, studying, no porn, and max your social skills at the same time

I don't think you have to unplug from social life to go monk mode. At least not in my interpretation

unless socializing = drinking, going to bars, etc

From what I’ve interpreted it as it’s to unplug completely from all social aspects of life barring close friends and family to work on yourself. I see it thrown around a lot on the self improvement side of YouTube geared towards young men who are mostly concerned with getting pussy. And then they tell you to stop interacting with women 100% and workout 5 hours a day and read 100 books per week. No, phuck that. If what you really want is to get pussy and/or laid then you absolutely must practice social skills and interact with women and other dudes in your age group to build a social circle.

Hiding in a cave doing 1000 pull-ups a day and reading 10,000 books isn’t going to magically solve that.

If what you’re after though is something directly tied to monk mode then yea it’s justified. Example being starting a business. You absolutely have to focus 100% on grinding non stop if you want to build a business so I can see why you’d want to stop social life

All I’m saying is that there’s no reason to completely unplug from dating. You can absolutely work on all aspects of self improvement like reading , no fap, talking to girls/guys, networking, etc at the same time

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

about the closest I can get to a "meditative state" is while riding my bicycle.

if I actually try to sit and "meditate" I feel like a retard and stop within 2 minutes.

A true Buddhist knows that things are all about perspective. Yes he covets material goods, but he's running on half a kidney, so if we're talking organ function, he's most definitely a minimalist.
