OP, a little off topic but: Is Boise a nice area? How's the economy, culture, people?


I heard Boise's housing market skyrocketed during the pandemic, but I just can't wrap my head around why a rural city in a rural state could command a price more thank $600K (regardless of square footage)



Are White people forming a utopian colony in Boise that I'm unaware of? If so, then that would be a motivation for me to invest in that market. In fact, my new strategy is only to invest in markets where White people are fleeing towards.


If a location is around 80% White, and if it's relatively near a large urban center, then that's prime real estate in my opinion.


I've decided I won't put a dime in any market that has too many damn ethnics.

We are California's real estate escape valve. Whenever the Fed drops interest rates, home prices take off, and aging California boomers look to cash out their equity gains by buying a cheaper house here. Problem is, that Boise now costs more than Portland, more than Sacramento, and about the same as Denver, so it's not cheap any more.

The economy is dismal and the wages are atrocious. I applied to the one tech company in town, and they offered me $85k with a masters degree. I make 50% more in San Diego for about ~30% more rent. Boise is a fukkin joke.

I was unemployed for 6 months and never met a recruiter who wasn't actively harmful to my job search. They are oxygen theives as far as I care.
