Do ppl underestimate raw grip strength for bigger numbers in the compound lifts?

noticed this when I went through a phase of using fat grips for a lot of my lifts. Having a vice-grip of the gods is almost a cheat-code to increasing gym strength on so many different lifts low-key.

Benching, rows, pull-ups, deadlifts, overhead pressing. Hell even squats a little bit. Almost every free-weight movement benefits from a stronger grip/bigger forearms. rarely seen a guy with big forearms not be able to put respectable numbers on a bench press even if their chest was small.

not to mention if you got into a fight, there is nothing more alpha than grabbing a hold of a person by the collar and lifting them up 3 feet in the air or grabbing their arm and feeling their bones getting crushed.

alot of labourers, movers, etc I've seen are kinda skinny-ish, but have the ability to move and carry objects you wouldn't expect them to. dat dere crackhead grip strength

Lot to be said for grip strength, but forearm size? That's genetics brah. It's just like calves. My brother has stupid huge forearms but is weak as fak. He looks strong in a shirt though.

On the flip side, I've seen tiny forearmed people put up some stupid numbers.
