What's the deal with this? I know it has been around since the George floyd thing but I thought it would have died down by now. I saw a dude wearing this hoody at the mall yesterday.

Am I wrong to think this is racist?

Asians and Indians have communities where they only work with themselves. Houston has a large Vietnamese insurance population that all work together and I know Indians that won't do business with non Indians.

We do frequent an Ethiopian restaurant but not because it supportive of black businesses, it's just because the food is great. Other than that I'd avoid them. Never feel welcome so they don't get my money

I've many thoughts on the matter. First, the same people who promote this will say it's xenophobic to support only made in the USA products. It reeks of an attempt to hijack an actual huge probl m with identity politics to keep people from uniting, just like blm.

So if you're black and you support this, it's myopic af.

Secondly, any business is subject to it's advertising reach, so if we want to overcome the wrath of modern commerce then that can only be done using said commerce which implies the people behind this are merely pushing an agenda rather than addressing a sincere issue.

Lastly, I do support black businesses as it is good seeing some of the cultural change occurring. I think it's occurring, at least. What's bizarre about hiring minorities is I do believe it's changing their culture for the better. I don't think urban areas are going to change anytime soon, but the gang glorification of a decade ago seems to have faded as millennials see how they've fukked their lives for "Street cred" lmao

This. I am a Chick Fil A Red One member even though I disagree strongly with their stance on LGBT stuff. They make good chicken sandwiches. I eat the sandwiches. I exchange payment for the sandwiches. I really don't see the issue. Almost everyone is going to have an opinion that you disagree with at some point. My money goes to the US govt so they can fund bs wars, and I don't even get a chicken sandwich out of that. So fuk it.
