Is Northern Idaho a good place to live? (Couer D'Alene, etc)

So, I've been following this quadruple murder of college kids in Moscow, Idaho. Decided to pop in the Twin Peaks box set and rewatch the classic series. The fictional town of Twin Peaks is located 5 miles from the Canadian border and 12 miles west of the Washington-Idaho border. So, basically like above Spokane near to the border.

Anyways, Northern Idaho looks pretty dope. Three of the four murdered individuals grew up in Couer D'Alene. It looks like a nice place. Do we have any CDA residents? Northern Idaho residents? How's the life up there? Is it good? A hidden gem?

Apparently it's called the Idaho Panhandle.

Voting is predominantly Republican:

2018: Republican: 63.6% Democrat: 34.6% Independent: 1.8%

Wouldn't Idaho be far enough east to avoid that PNW liberal thing? Look at the landscape, bro! Northern Idaho might just be the most beautiful part of the country

kind of weird in such isolated places. plus grizzlies.
I stopped in Missoula before, and it was nice, just very isolated.

Maybe if you had a lot of business in Washington, etc, it would work. I would not want a poor and limited life there.

Damn

Those west coast liberals are like the vikings - raiding and plundering Texas, Idaho, etc. Kind of like the Agent Smith virus from the Matrix series.

I live in the area, not that city but I've been there a bunch of times.

Basically everyone here is Wrong. This is certainly the geographical pacific northwest, but these are not the portland/seattle pacific northwest types of people.

This place, Moscow, spokane, kennewic/pasco/richland are filled with right wing "medium" city beautiful babies.

During thr pandemic we would go from washing to this exact city to party at the bars in full public with no masks or other constraints.

It's a red city. But a lot.

Would it be fair to say that North Idahoans are remnants of the original, OG Pacific North Westerns? You know, before the PNW went woke. That old school PNW

LMFAO this isn't 20 years ago, bud. Half of California is up there now.

No joke, I'm giving serious consideration to Idaho because of the high percentage of White people. When the rest of the country turns into Brazil, places like Idaho will be a White utopia and real estate will skyrocket.
Everything I post is satire.

CDA is the most beautiful and quite possibly most based city I’ve ever been to. If there ever was a place I’d consider living if I sold the ranch it would be CDA hands down.

I looked into that area 2 years ago. A lot of nice areas, red state, good sheriffs, etc. But LOL at the property in ID. Some of the most overvalued real estate in the country.

I'd wait a while.

To be fair many of the whites in the area are based. A few years ago the democrat mayor in in a nearby town called Sandpoint tried to have a bunch of Syrian refugees resettled there. So many people showed up to protest the townhall discussing it that the fire department had to close the building. He withdrew the resettlement offer.

I visited there. Liked it as a vacation, but didn't like it as a place to live.

Expensive, isolated, harsh winters.

It works as a getaway type location for people on the west coast, which makes the most sense to me. Probably a good place for a vacation house if you have the money. Skiing is supposed to be good at Schweitzer Mountain.

Had some relatives move there to that part of Idaho from Spokane. They ended up moving back to Spokane after a few years for two reasons, the wife's father needed help and the winters were more harsh in the mountain area they had moved to. Outside of that they seemed to enjoy their time in northern Idaho.
