I'm stuck in an existential crisis thinking about the universe.

I can't comprehend it. What was here before it? Just empty blackness? Even that is something, as some plane of existence had to exist for the universe to appear on. Even a blank paint canvas is still a canvas.

How big is it? Does it just end at a big imaginary wall?

And if God made it all, that's even more mind ****y.

If we're in a simulation, what created the beings that created the situation?

I'm having a panic attack
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

I’m of the opinion it’s infinite nothingness to be the counterbalance to the possibilities of life. We have infinite creative oppprtunities in a defined space (earth)

Maybe it cycles as one planet dies somewhere another one begins it’s life cycle who knows.

I feel like maybe you have to many definitions placed on your idea of god. It’s undefinable by human understanding.

My current thoughts are we’re all like little antennas that get turned on to tune into consciousness from the source of creation, we have more capabilities to handle even the most infinitesimal fraction of *divine* intellect, which gives us capabilities beyond the garden of Eden. So we need to temper it with wisdom handed down in the Bible (try to treat as allegory, lots of humans involved)

Had this at 33. Some things we CAN'T comprehend. Infinity exist, and our brain can't comprehend it on its actual level. Start reading up on Taoism boyo, it has helped me IMMENSELY on how the universe works and "god" can still fit into it as well.

Just think that if the universe in the extremely distant future does slow down it's expansion and then eventually begins to contract, it will probably mean that the "Big Bang" has happened an infinite amount of times and you have/will live and die an infinite amount of times.

But there is no evidence that it will, as a matter of fact the evidence points to the opposite, which is really fukked up and depressing.

That's what every observation made is pointing too. The expansion is actually accelerating with time. Eventually it would just be an ever expanding space with all matter "dissolving" into energy that gets unimaginably weaker but never really disappears.

Doesn't seem to make sense, when the idea of the universe expanding and contracting forever is more intuitive and easier to comprehend. But the universe obviously doesn't care what makes sense to a bunch of aesthetic monkeys thinking about their existence.

Yeah, sounds more like a drop of magic pangalactic superstuff being dropped into a null space and gradually dissipating like a drop of food coloring in a bowl of water.

Maybe the mysterious dark matter is the water and some incomprehensible being just happened to drip a little divine essence into this part of the pond.

No. This doesn't help at all. Could be my least favorite [everything happening all at the same time never ending]. The only worse one I think was something about you have to live through every single human experience and play all of the parts in the story.





Makes the Xtian story of only having to be born, live, and die one time sound pretty sweet in comparison.

He is correct though, all events within the universe that ever happened or ever will happen are all equally real and do exist simultaneously. What any observer percieves as the present is entirely relativistic, and not a "real" thing. Past, present and future are all equally real.

It's less panicky if you remember that you're made up of the same energy as the rest of our universe.

The universe wanted you alive, so you should be embracing life, but there's no reason to fear death, because that, too is what the universe wants.

I also think about, in all likelihood, humanity is going to disappear completely within the next few hundred years. We even know it's coming, but human greed is impossible to contain.

Our entire species will be here and gone within a few hundred thousand years. To contrast, dinosaurs were walkin' around, eating plants and each other, for about 165 million years.

This is why time travel isn't possible. Time doesn't exist, it's simply what we attribute to what our senses tell us as change. In order to go into the past we would need to move every single Quark in the universe back to a previous position. There's no possible way to know where that position is for every Quark and how it could be done without interacting with them.

They evolved from a single celled miscer, just like we did. We were all spawned at the same moment.
