I don’t want to be poor. But idc about making any more money than I currently do, tbh. No desire to be rich. Sounds lonely and miserable.

I have what I need. Couldn't give two fuks tbh.

It's a capitalist economy. You get more from sitting on your ass and giving money you didn't earn (because you were just born into it) to people for even more return than you do working an honest job.

This is nonsense.

Hard work is good for you, and it's not difficult to live within your means as you move forward in life, building up a nest egg.

If you want more than just a comfortable life, you have to take risks and sacrifice while you're young, especially if you're starting from scratch as a poor person.

Even if you could scrape by on welfare for life, you'll regret having wasted your years looking at the walls of your mom's basement.

You missed my point. My point is that this economy rewards the rich for being rich and doing practically nothing. If you are starting from scratch and poor, you are confined to servitude unless you luck out. If you're born rich, you can put your money in the stock market and average a decent return. That return can often exceed salaries of people who work honest hard jobs. You are rewarded simply for giving money to a business which employs the servant class while you basically do nothing.

The entire system is a joke and will inevitably destroy itself.

Every economic system is a joke. Most people can definitely be successful if they work hard in school in a useful major like computer science or medicine.

Also, why do you feel that people deserve money that they didn’t earn? If you’re talking about rich people as having trust fund babies etc guess what. Their dad’s earned that money to give to their kids or do whatever they want with it. I’m sure you’d rather have the government take it all away with taxes to blow on useless **** and expansion of the federal governments power due to corruption though than to let people use their own money however they want.

At this point...I don't.

I still work towards financial stability out of survival and in hopes of buying land and creating a safe place for my family.

It won't be easy.

Because monopolies exist. The government protects certain patents and industries. Look at how much money people have made in tech or pharma. We do not live in a competitive market economy.

I'd rather have a functional government. The complaints about our government are precisely because it has been captured. You're aware Bernie Madoff was at the SEC right? LOL do you understand? People using money how they want is how the government gets corrupted in the first place. At what point do you realize you are just a slave? Why does your employer control your access to healthcare, housing, and food? Why should people have car collections, yachts, or $100 million homes? How is greed a virtue?

It's all cuckery dude.

Know plenty of people who are considered societally poor and they're happy mf'er's. Meanwhile know some really wealthy and well to do folks who are miserable as sht. It's all subjective and up to how you perceive and handle the cards dealt to you.

I don't care about being worth millions or being famous (in fact I especially don't want to be famous, I value my privacy/anonymity). What I DO want is to be able to go places and buy things that I like without worrying about cost (especially the essentials like food and gas).

I'm almost there, but my definition on contentment is to be able to make enough money that I can top off my tank with premium gas or go to the grocery store and buy the same quantity of eggs/steak I did 5 years ago mumbling under my breath about the price, THAT is making it to me. I'd also like to be able to go on vacations overseas and stop lying to myself that "Staycations" or traveling 1 state over to some tourist trap is fun, and furthermore be able to pay for it on a CC (gotta rack up those points) that I can immediately pay off when I get home. I figure I need to be making somewhere between $110-$150k since I live in SD.

I know a handful of people like that. Their facade of being jovial 24/7 is a House of Cards. They're happy the way things are, but if one thing falls out of place (an emergency expense, a relative gets sick, they get into a fender bender, etc) they are first ones to lose their chit in a public place and wind up on WSHH.

The only people who don't care are druggies/drunks.

Nothing beats coming home to your own place where no one can take it away from you and you don't need to share it with anyone. Every man should strive for a piece of land with only his name on it. Once you have that anything else is just gravy. But fuk shared living arrangements or depending on someone else for a place to lay your head down.

I like to go to vegas a couple times a year.

That said, I spend the least amount possible when i do go. I even cook in my room. Find it hilarious to outsmart them at their game and its part of my vacation to still have fun while spending less. Stay downtown at the four queens or whatever hotel has decent deals going. Perfectly serviceable places.

Dont get me wrong, I have a great time but thats because I am capable of creating my own fun.

I bring this up because vegas is a place where that distinction really comes out. Those who can create their own fun and those who need to pay for fun.

Lots of people stay on the strip and pay for fancy meals, clubs, all that because i think they cant have fun unless they are somehow guided to do it and are willing to pay for it. Nothing wrong with that but its just a different way to do it.

The "poor forever" thing to me is this difference, Those who are satisfied and can entertain themselves with what they have and those who need outside stimuli all the time.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda
