Anyone Down To Do A "Dopamine Detox" or Have Done One Recently? (srs)
I understand that the idea of a "dopamine detox" is kind of typical new agey term and there are conflicting ideas on it even being a thing, but I feel like I should do like a hard reset right now.
Reasons why:
-Too much screen time lately
-Intaking way too much extra random information listening to podcasts, videos or watching unnecessary videos
-Caffeine mixed with too much screen time destroyed my attention span since being during the holiday time
-Can hardly read longer than 15 min. right now without needing to go to my phone or laptop out of habit
Thinking about doing no screen time besides work necessary or playing some music in my car commuting to work.
-No laptop/youtube/misc or anything on phone when I'm home (besides necessary calls/texts)
-No TV
-No caffeine
-No masturbation (don't do it too often anyways but still)
Think I just need to re-sensitize my mind and do a hard reset. I wish I could just go hiking for like a week without a phone or anything.
Any boyos have tips in doing something like this or want to join in on this?
Inb4 "Lol at this retard talking about dopamine detoxing that was debunked LOL. Imagine thinking it's hard to just not go on electronics for a week LULZ"

But doesn’t listening to music and watching poem boost dopamine? Doesn’t taking preworkout before lifting heavy and listening to music boost dopamine?

I've done this.
I think I'd do it again more with a spiritual element because our natural equilibrium is more a sober, social life than simply turning the volume off. Probably something like simple foods, no unnatural sex and some integrated / christian environment are things I'd include.

I probably look at a screen 10hrs a day, and drink chitloads of caffeine. I feel its been fukking me up for awhile cause I'm stressed af everyday and feel mildly disassociated in general.
Doesn't help that I'm newly sober so my mind is still adjusting to a different reality. Feels like I'm running on empty everyday, feelsbadman
I'd like to do something like this to ground myself and feel more connected to myself, I just dont think I have the discipline for it at this point in my life. So Im stuck on the hamster wheel so to speak
faurk, Im going through it bro's

I've wanted to, my only "fix" is the phone. It's seriously annoying how useful a phone is when you have a random question that needs answered and can Google it in a split second.
Brb putting phone down for dopamine detox
Brb what actually is dopamine?
Brb spend next 4 hours going down rabbit hole
Brb what's misc up to...?

Playing classical music or orthodox hyms (what I usually listen to anyways) for 30 min. isn't going to spike my dopamine. I'm not going into a black hole of silence.
I think you misread my OP. I said I would not have any caffeine, I would not watch tv, scroll on my phone or use it at all outside of calls/texts that are necessary, no laptop, etc. Essentially have zero screen time.

My attention span is literally zero right now and I can't believe how bad my habitual screen time has gotten.
I'm in the same boat haha

My attention span is usually great tbh. Right now though it is like a kid with severe adhd on sour patch kids and redbull and vodka.

The boys on this site ejaculate FAR too much to ever re-sensitize their dopamine receptors. They're a bunch of addicts on here. They really are. Hopeless addicts. Addicted to blowing out hot cum loads."Oh! Oh! Porn is whats really bad! You can masturbate to your imagination and its a GOOD THING because it keeps you from getting prostate cancer!"Yeah right. So absurd. Desperate words of an addict."Durrr I'm no no-fap because I **** my girlfriend three times a day!"You fellas just can't stop ejaculating can you? Every day its all you think about."I gotta ejaculate!"Getting off that next nutload. Its disgusting. Its disgusting and you all should seek help for your nasty addiction.

I notice that with severe dopamine problems, I always end up "seeking" something new. This is why misc is so addicting, it's really just the brain trying to refresh the page in hopes of something new and exciting. My ability to concentrate on a book is absolute garbage right now.

One thing that I noticed that is way different from when I was younger is that I'm almost never alone with my thoughts, I'm either listening to something or watching something or browsing random chit. I think it's unhealthy, gonna start just being alone and doing nothing for at least an hour a day

Too much real life in this thread.
I've got the same issue. I'm in front of a computer all day for work then I come home and chill tf out in front of another computer/screen. Burning out hard, I was meant to take a break over the holidays but blew it.
I need to set strict boundaries for screen time and stop abusing caffeine. Read before bed instead of tv.
