Do you not understand how American foreign policy works? We back Ukraine to destabilize Russia. What would Rhodesia have accomplished?

Not enough interest. Plus Zimbabwe was unstable af and continued to be. You'll recall the US was involved in other matters and didn't care to defend a failing colony.

Do we even need to ask the question? It's obvious-nothing to be gained.
Did the US condemn tire necklaces in South Africa?

So again what’s the difference between Ukraine and Rhodesia? Both meet the same criteria you listed above.

The US involves itself in a lot of areas where there’s nothing to be gained. What did the US gain in 20 years in Afghanistan, other than outfitting the Taliban (again)?

How does losing Rhodesia destabilize the USSR? We were engaged in Vietnam. There was no advantage to getting involved.

The collapse of the USSR. And it was a stupid strategy. American foreign policy is dumb. But your strategy, based largely on some retarded racial logic, is equally dumb.

You're an INTJ so I will assume you're not trolling.

The reason we got involved was to preserve stability. Srs. It was oil-yes, which sounds petty and horrific.....but in the grand scheme of things was necessary to preserve the way things are. Iraq- "New World Order" (lol) is horse chit, it's all to preserve the old world order. Stability. The reason we are able to be pissants about it and complain from our comfy position is that it works.

The apartheid was too much of a risk to be seen helping Rhodesia… yes it was communism vs capitalism, but there WAS an apartheid.

Even Belgium “santitized” the rifles they sent to them to hide who was sending them. I think even South Africa did the same too.

Rhodesia is rich in natural resources. That’s why China has taken much interest in Zimbabwe in its belt and road initiative.

How was the US supposed to conquer Rhodesia while fighting in Vietnam when public sentiment was at an all time low?

The belt and road initiative isn't conquest btw. It's hard for white trash imperialists to ever fathom how communists think.

Couldn’t that have been handled by lobbing a few missiles over there? Why involve the country in a war for 20 years? The Taliban are still in power as they were before. Isn’t the stability the same now as in 2001?

Who said anything about the US conquering Rhodesia?

You said there wasn’t anything worthwhile in Zimbabwe. However, Zimbabwe is rich in natural resources which is why they’re a part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative. If the US backed Rhodesia, the US would have a strategic partnership with a friendly government to access those resources. So your statement that the US didn’t get involved in Rhodesia because nothing is there is false.

The Rhodesian army was largely made up of blacks. A lot of black and white Rhodesians hated commies.
