Pet peeve
I think my biggest pet peeve is when people are habitually late. Dates, calls, meetups, whatever.
Whenever I agree on a time, I make it my business to plan towards that time, as a priority.
Why? Because it's disrespectful of the other person's time and effort.
An old co-worker wanted to call tonight, we agreed on a time earlier today. Now this is the 3rd time he's 20mins+ late.
The interesting part is this guy was always on time for work meetings. I've heard excuses from people who are late, that it's personality thing they can't help. That's bs, if they can show up for work on time.
Personal stuff is just not a priority for people. I'm done with him I think. I don't understand how people don't view it as extremely disrespectful.

It's a form of disrespect, although it's the norm now and not the exception. It says their time is more valuable than yours. Same thing with arriving fashionably late.
I'm the only person who's considerate enough to text ahead of time if I know I'm going to be running late, which is pretty rare.

Don't ever hang out with Hawaiians. Somehow I fell into a group of islander MMA bruddas in college, but those fukkers were literally 2 hours late to everything. Not exaggerating, literally 2 hours. I have no idea how they ever made it to class.

Agreed m8.
I'd look past it at first or if there were extenuating circumstances but if it became a regular occurrence, I would be lead to believe that the person thinks my time is expendable

Oh and let's talk about trying to plan a trip with your buddies. They all give tentative yes then once someone actually starts planning and getting prices they start dropping out one by one. Or gives maybe answers. Or the logistics become a nightmare to handle. Or some wait till the last minute to book. Going through this right now.
People are such flakes nowadays.

It seems to be more common these days.
Watch how many Zoomers will be late to everything.

Lol at caring about anyone else time
It don't spend the same as your own. But no need to be disrespectful with others allotted time as well
I agree that one should text or reschedule if not going to be on time.
Its situational. I was raised on African time so I don't care if people are late if I'm notified

If you think anyone(friends/family) really cares about wasting your time, then I got bad news.
But communicated tardiness would be ideal
Dont think he was trying to be disrespectful, he just values his own time or schedule more than yours

Some old guy was doing bicep curls on the belt squat machine the other day. Wtf, there is plenty of room in the entire gym and you gotta go out of your way to step on the belt squat platform to do fukin curls? There was even an empty squat rack like 10 feet away. Asked him to move and then did belt squats.

And vice versa. Someone says they're showing up at 10, and 5 minutes later they aren't there I'll call them. If they cant show up and I'm in a time crunch then I'll reschedule.
It's situational, like I said earlier
Being late to a flight, movie, or work is usually inexcusable due to the set schedule.
But a phone call about something that can be discussed another time, or meeting up at a bar 20 minutes late is different in my opinion.
And if this guy is doing it all the time, then be cautious of how much time you're willing to spend on him.
