Dumb chit you believed/thought as a kid?

For some reason I thought that American street gangs had a tendency to wear stiletto heels, so it would hurt when they heel-kicked each other. Also that they carried super-soakers full of bleach as weapons, instead of actual firearms.

When I was VERY young I thought that the world used to be black & white as all the old movies had no colour.

when I was a kid I had problems with catching my breath. thought it was because I was jacking off so much and that sooner or later I wouldnt be able to breathe at all. but I took the risk.

I also thought the rock pools/cliff faces at beaches were another planet called "rock world".

In 1993-4 there was a voice command robot which came out on the toy market which responded to simple voice commands. I thought I could get to do a wee if I filled it with water and asked it to do a wee. I ended up just ruining it.


I thought dogs did white poos, rather than them doing normal colour poos and they just turned white after exposure.

I had a religious upbringing and lived in perpetual fear of the devil. I thought if I even thought his name he would appear and kill me.


I thought that downstairs, after mum n dad went to bed, that ghosts would take over from there on in in the darkness, and I'd have to sprint upstairs before they grabbed at my ankles.


I didn't know that babies came out women's ****s and stretched them out. I thought just chit out babies and giving birth was like doing a really huge turd.

I recall being on a walk with my father and we came upon a lot on which a new home was being built and there were two sets of circular marks in the dirt left behind by some site drums and my father acted all surprised and interested then told me they were clearly footprints left by a wild urban hippopotamus but then he pointed at a tire track and said oh my god that’s from a giant anaconda and it suddenly dawned on me that he was just being an ahole
