With Chat GPT, deep fakes, AI Porn, world scale propaganda all shoved down our throat, how would you know what's real and what isn't? Elon Musk even stated that he believes there is a one in a billion chance we are living in based reality and believes we are in a simulation. With the inevitability of AI taking over, what if they become self aware and conscious? How do we know we are not the furthest along result of AI ourselves? How do we know we are not a simulation? If we have had the technology decades ago to create real life simulations of anything, how do we know we ourselves are not just a created simulation running on a computer?

Have you ever had a dream, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?

This year starting when it gets a bit warmer, I am going to live a majority of my life in reality and within the physical world. I won't be on the internet as much, will barely watch tv, will just focus on local and reality in the present.

I don't like where we are headed so the best way to actually stick by that is to remove a lot of it from my life.

None of what you say is necessarily the case. See, being able to distinguish between reality and fiction is key. Even if "AI takes over", it will be at the behest of the haves. Not the have-nots. This isn't Horizon: Zero Dawn waiting to happen, it is more Bladerunner 2049.

And even in Bladerunner 2049, folks could easily mark skin-jobs. That's the dystopian future we're heading for, just to be clear.

So the fundamental question in terms of retaining control over the reality you experience is: are you a have, or a have-not?
