My friend is dead set on going there from CA, politics wise its certainly better.

But wtf, it looks flat, boring, whats out there?

Prefer Fort Worth.

But Dallas doesn't have a lot of personality. However there is a lot to do around here if you have the time and money. I would say more for families than for young professionals/night life.

San Antonio is really nice. Dallas is really spread out, lots of smaller towns and downtown Dallas seems pretty dead.

I hate Dallas. My wife's sister lives there and every time I have to go for a visit I get hives. Fort Worth is vastly better if you have to live in that area.

Politics wise it really isn't that much better. All major cities are liberal sh*t holes. The state means very little.

You want to go somewhere with better politics you should find smaller cities or downright small towns.

dallas is alright i lived there for a bunch of years. i’m in new york now which is cooler, but i didn’t hate my time in dallas and would probably consider raising a family there over new york or another major city

I lived in McKinney for a while. Nice town but just expensive and really nothing to do. I felt like a Chad on Tinder though, seemed like endless matches and chicks wanting to hang out.

Crime in Dallas has spike quite a bit over the last couple decades as a result of Dems. The seniors are moving away, and the nicer areas are getting overrun by their replacements. Even Houston is going south. If you look at a political map, Houston and Dallas are straight blue. Austin is the exception because it’s home to a major university, and therefore very affluent. Very affluent = keep low income away by putting anything social programs outside the city and keeping tight home owners regulations


There is quite a bit to do in Dallas, but as others have said, there are nicer places. We were just there several months ago due see family and took a couple days to see some attractions. They weren’t anything to write home about. The zoo and aquarium were small and the crowds were pretty trashy. Fort Worth and San Antonio are nice. San Anton can get really crowded.

My wife grew up in Plano. We live about an hour away from Houston currently. Great distance for day trips, but then retreat back to our rural home.

I’m still blown away she had something over 1,000 students in her graduating class. I had 130 in my little school in Pa. Lol Dallas is very dense. Traffic is crazy there too.

I do like San Antonio a lot though. Always lots going on and a pretty lively and interesting Hispanic community. She has family there too.

What part of CA? I'm as far-right as they come but I think I'd rather be in SoCal than Dallas. I'd rather be in Austin than Houston or Dallas, and I equate Austin with California. Also depends on the industry you work in. Houston and Dallas = Oil and Gas

Actually? I've lived in Austin and Houston, and just assumed that Fort Worth was like Dallas, which was like Houston.
