Misc beat battle thread #5

What's goin on MISC...... told Jandels I would host this time around. We've had some fun threads in the past....


Recently found about 300 records being thrown out. A little overwhelming. I thought it would be cool to flip some Hawaiian sh*t. I'm hearing some good stuff in this song.





Let's fukin do this!


minor rules
Use the sample somewhere in the mix, add your own drums, bassline, extra sparkle etc, and have fun.

This one is challenging. Great sample, Kormo's too, but I don't think I've ever written a song in major key. Gonna have to turn this one dark somehow. Biggest challenge yet.

Interesting. I tend to write mostly minor stuff too. Like 90% minor........ Mine will prob turn out dark as well, lol.... .. getting off work now and heading home.

I should have listened to the sample/rhythm more. It has a shuffle to it which is tricky.... but i got something going now.

About 50% done. I got the main part figured out.

Hopefully post something tonight after work.

The sample is great P, I love working with Island music. Theres some sneaky artifacts in there i didn't notice until I really got into it. Some drums or something, it's all good.

I haven't really pitched it or done anything crazy. I chopped it, added a bass line then chopped the chop so try and slow it down. Will hopefully finish tonight, cant wait to add in those sea gulls

I haven't touched kormos piano yet, I'll see if I can make it work.

Here is my 3rd attempt. I started over twice. I might post the 1st one I did for lols as it's completely different than this.

I tried to recreate the chop i did in the middle lol. was pretty fun in the end.

Thx. Yeah i tried to recreate the chop. I played organ (virtual), Bells and Guitar. I did the acoustic too but it sounded like **** mixed in. It's hard to hear exactly what instrument was being used other than the organ.
