once AI becomes sentient in video games, is it considered murder to kill them?

imagine you're a guy named god. create a character named jesus in your new RPG and start playing the game. you end up losing but the sentient NPCs develop a religion because of your world class gaming skills.

would simply rebooting your computer be utmost genocide?
